How to make a spectacular masquerade mask of an owl, as well as other birds and animals. How to make a spectacular masquerade mask of an owl, as well as other birds and animals. What we need

Hello, fellow readers of the blog site!

Conducting various quizzes and brain rings often requires a presenter wearing a mask of a symbol of wisdom.

When they ordered an owl mask for me, I wondered what kind of owl this bird has character traits? Round yellow eyes with round pupils both look forward (and not located on the sides of the head, like a chicken), a hooked small beak. The head is round... but the eagle owl has ears above the eyebrows... or is it the owl? I looked it up in the encyclopedia. So, the eagle owl really has ears, but almost all owls do too, except the Arctic one. OK. Then I will make a generalized eagle owl mask with ears and a separate polar owl mask.

Or rather, of course, a half mask. Let's start with the eared one.

How to make an owl or owl mask

The details are as follows: a half mask - glasses, with round eye slits, false round eyes (if you have fluorescent paper, then it will be great), eyebrows and a beak made of two parts (the pattern is the same as for

We glue the eyes carefully, maintaining symmetry. We place the eyebrows and ears on top of the forehead and secure them above the bridge of the nose and above the eyes, but let the ends be free. The halves of the beak are not the same - on one, along the hump of the nose, we will provide folding valves, lubricate them with strong glue (I used a heat gun). At the base of the beak, on the wings of the nose, bend the edges and glue this beak from the inside of the mask. All. Now you decide for yourself what to attach the mask to - on a hoop (then the mask will fit looser and will be wider) or, by making slits at the temples, thread an elastic band through them and put it on like that (I like this option less - the mask bends to the shape of the face and visually narrows . My face is already very narrow and masks are noticeably distorted when pressed with an elastic band to my temples. I always prefer masks on a hoop).

However, we also have standard models: Comrade Musketeer (known to us since time as a symbol of wisdom, looks great.

Comrade Pandit...hmmm...not bad either. It’s been a while since I took part in fashion shows, but look, I haven’t lost my charm.

How to make a polar owl mask

However, that's not all - we have a polar owl mask planned. The details are the same, but without the ears.

Therefore, we will make the forehead higher, with darts so that it is convex and add specks. Yeees. The polar owl mask turned out to be convincing: when you see a person in such a mask, you immediately come to the conclusion that you should not mess with this character.

But our new employee is Comrade Snowman (who made his debut with the show

Anti-aging face mask "Owl" is sold exclusively in the L'Etoile store, and I have already bought it several times. I like it more than other masks in the series FUNKY FUN.

The mask is designed for one-time use.

Here's a brown bag with a funny owl:

On the back of the bag there is detailed information about this mask:

The mask was made in Korea.

Best before date:

From the manufacturer:

The method of application is traditional for fabric masks. While the mask is on the skin, it does not pinch it, allergic reaction It didn’t occur to me.

Mask composition:

Its aroma is sweet and fruity. I really like him.

The mask is moderately saturated, nothing drips down the neck.

The pattern is applied to only one side, so it certainly does not stain the skin. The mask fits better than other masks in this series.

There is a feeling of stickiness, so some time after removing the mask I wipe my face with tonic.

The mask moisturizes the skin, has a slight lifting effect, and I also feel nourished. If the mask seemed useless to me, I certainly wouldn’t buy it several times.

The shape of the mask cannot be said to be very comfortable, because there are some strange things in place of the eyes and mouth, and you have to tear them off. This is a drawback of all masks in this series. That's why I can't give five points.

On the face it looks very, very intimidating. My husband has never been so scared! Although he hasn’t seen enough of all kinds of masks.

But even he didn’t expect this, so he can better make such masks alone.

There are no specific guidelines for age, and you probably need to decide for yourself at what age it is time to use anti-aging products.

I have normal facial skin type, and I am happy with this owl mask!

Fabulous Carnival masks butterflies, goats, bears, lions, owls and dogs. Let's give our kids a holiday! Children surprisingly easily transform into various characters; for this they only need one small detail.

Even the most DIY one for children, made from unusual material, can lift the mood, bring a festive atmosphere, and turn an ordinary evening into a fabulous one.

A do-it-yourself mask for a child can be made from felt or other thick fabric. We propose to consider masks made from an interesting and slightly unusual material - sheet foam cardboard. It is quite soft and light, bends easily, but at the same time holds its shape perfectly.

To create several New Year's masks you will need:

  • foam board packaging;
  • scissors;
  • pencil;
  • tape measure;
  • stationery knife;
  • glue;
  • thin round (hat) elastic band;
  • paper for creating templates.

How the work is structured:

You need to cut out a template for the future mask. For example, if we need a butterfly mask, we measure the distance from the beginning of the child’s ear to the bridge of the nose with our own hands. Fold a sheet of paper in half and measure this distance from the fold. We draw the wings of the butterfly so that our mark falls on the center of the wing. We cut it out, apply it to the baby’s face and mark where to make the slits for the eyes.

It is better to make the slot large enough, since children move actively, and their masks usually move a little. You can measure the distance between the slots in advance with a measuring tape.

We trace our template on a sheet of foam board and cut it out. It is convenient to make holes with a stationery knife.

We decorate the mask with pieces of foam board or foil, gluing them with regular office glue.

We make two small holes along the edges of the mask, thread a hat elastic into them (its length must be measured in advance - this will be the distance from the beginning of one ear to the other).

We try it on and adjust the length.

Using the same principle, any animal mask can be made with your own hands. Most masks can be based on an oval with a concave center on one side (bean-shaped). It is accompanied by characteristic details of the animal.

Let's say you need a spectacular masquerade mask to complement your costume or instead of a full-fledged costume. Let's say you even know which animal you want to be. But it is often much more difficult to understand how to bring your idea to life. Here is a step-by-step process for creating an amazing three-dimensional owl mask, by analogy with which you can always realize your own ideas (from birds to animals). “Our” mask is the bottom one in the picture.

For the base, we will need a half-face mask (see the bottom mask in the photo).

You can buy such a base, or you can make it or cut it from a ready-made mask. In the last two cases, since your mask will be almost completely covered with new parts, it is not necessary to make it so curly. Also prepare:
- sharp scissors;
- hot glue, fabric glue or universal instant glue;
- colored ornamental felt in autumn shades (see in the pictures below);
- some feathers if desired (also sold in handicraft stores on the RuNet).

1. Take a half-face opera mask or cut a similar outline from any cheap one paper mask. Don’t worry about the perfect evenness of the edges (as long as you don’t prick or rub the skin): they will still be completely covered by “feathers” made of felt. You can even sew something similar from thick soft fabric(in a couple of layers).

2. Take felt in autumn shades, as in the picture below.

3. From felt itself bright color and cut out a “beak”: a kind of triangle, but with slightly oval right and left edges. We will glue it to the back of the mask in the nose area - see the picture below.

4. “Feathers” made of felt must be layered on top of each other, so we will work from the outer borders to the center - to the slits for the eyes. Decide where each color of feathers will be on the mask to estimate the required number of each shade. For example: in the first photo, brown feathers frame the eyes, so you will need 20-30 of them per row on top and a row under the mask slits for both eyes. Felt “feathers” of the first type (from the darkest and lightest shades) should be of the following size and shape (like a “beak”, only 1.5-2 times smaller):

To add volume and detail, the sides of each such “feather” should be cut a couple of times with scissors:

“Feathers” of the second type (but made of felt in three colors; the brightest (beak color) and white felt cut very little “feathers”) should have forked ends (try to also round them on all sides):

There is also no need to cut the feathers perfectly evenly: without this it will only turn out more natural. The most convenient way is to cut strips from sheets of felt, fold them like an accordion to the size of a small rectangle, and cut out several of these “feathers” from the accordion at once.

5. Use hot glue or fabric glue and glue on the beak as shown and described above. Continue gluing the bottom contour of the mask, but now we glue the “feathers” not from the inside, but directly on top:

6. Glue the second layer-level of “feathers” on top of the first, but with a slight indentation (slightly less than a centimeter) towards the slits for the eyes: note that we glue the “feathers” with a forked end with this very end down. After each row, we cut off the parts of the “feathers” that fit into the boundaries of the eye slits.

7. We glue the third row, and this time it will be the darkest “feathers” at the very slots, so now we pay attention to the fact that the upper border of the “feathers” more or less evenly outlines the slots. We glue the “feathers” as close to the slots as possible. If you feel that the feathers for the last row are too long, simply trim them.

8. On top of the mask we do exactly the same thing, only here there will be more shades and layers-rows. Let's start from the very beginning light color(actually white) and row by row we take the color either darker or brighter. Or you can alternate bright/dark and light, like real owl. This is what the finished base will look like, with only a few bright details left to add:

9. Cut out two leaves from the brightest felt that will serve as our owl’s eyebrows. A regular leaf with a stalk plus often cut sides:

10. It is optimal to complement such “eyebrows” with a second similar smaller leaf made of light felt:

Or you can use real feathers for “eyebrows”...

...or combine the first and second. To your taste: try on what will look best with the mask. Choose the last option - first glue the real feather to the larger felt feather (on top of it and a little to the side), and then glue the “bouquet” into the mask.

12. Now you need to make a more elegant and clearly defined eye line. Again, from the brightest felt, cut out a curved line, similar to a wide line of black eyeliner with an arrow:

Before gluing it, cut out a second one along the contour of the first one!

13. Glue the upper lines of the eyes, applying glue not to the new parts, but to the edges of the mask.

14. We do something similar for the lower eyelid, closing it completely or only on the sides, as here:

Ready!
