State and folk holidays in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus

Holidays, as a rule, can be state or non-state. Thus, such holidays as Independence Day or Constitution Day are considered state holidays, while non-state holidays include March 8, New Year, Christmas, etc.

Holidays and public holidays officially approved by the president of the country are days off. Taking into account all these holidays and weekends, an annual working time fund is planned.

However, this happens differently in each country. In Belarus, if a holiday falls on a weekend, it is not postponed, as happens in most countries. At the same time, if a working day falls between a holiday and a weekend, it is postponed. In this regard, the annual fund of all working hours also changes.

Schedule of transfers of working days and holidays

Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus on the transfer of working days:

It is possible that some workdays and weekends may still be rescheduled, so we recommend that you monitor this page.

Production calendar for 2016

The above calendar is also production work calendar of Belarus for 2016. A feature of the production calendar of Belarus is the principle of transferring working days and weekends:

If the day off coincides with a public holiday or public holiday, the day off will not be transferred and another day of rest will not be granted. But working days that fall between a weekend and a holiday are usually moved to Saturday.

Working time standards in the production calendar:

Month / Quarter / Year Amount of days Working hours per week
Calendar workers Weekends 40 hours 36 hours 24 hours
January 31 19 12 152 136,8 91,2
February 29 21 8 168 151,2 100,8

December 31 22 9 176 158,4 105,6
2016 366 255 111 2040 1836 1224

Thus, taking into account all weekends, as well as holidays, in the Republic of Belarus in 2016 the annual working time amounted to 2040 hours for a week with five working days and a 40-hour work week.

All these time calculations are necessary so that in the future it is possible to draw up a production program for the enterprise, which is compiled on the basis of calculating working time indicators for the year.

Knowing the annual fund of all working hours, the number of all holidays and weekends, you can easily and correctly calculate the number and duration of work shifts. And from these calculations it is possible to create schedules for the company’s employees. Payment on holidays is at one rate, on weekends - at a different rate. This is the system that operates at most enterprises in Belarus.

Key important dates in 2016

In addition to the official non-working days, the following state, national and church holidays are celebrated in the Republic of Belarus:

Borrowing money is a phenomenon that is quite typical and widespread for modern society. It would be legally correct to issue a loan with subsequent documented repayment of funds. To do this, the parties draw up and sign a loan agreement.

  • It's no secret that a legally competent approach to drawing up an agreement or contract is a guarantee of the success of the transaction, its transparency and security for counterparties. Legal relations in the field of employment are no exception.

  • In the course of business activities of many companies, a supply agreement is most often used. It would seem that this document, simple in its essence, should be absolutely clear and unambiguous.
  • Any company knows that paying taxes on time is just as important as paying wages. Tax calendars will remind you when and what tax to pay.

    * November 4-6 (3 days) - in honor of National Unity Day, in which the duration of work is reduced by one hour.

November 26, Minsk /Elena Prus - BELTA/. Ministry of Labor and social protection Belarus has “created” the production calendar for 2016, a BELTA correspondent was told in the department.

At full normal duration of working hours (40 hours per week), the estimated standard working time for 2016 will be for a five-day working week with days off on Saturday and Sunday - 2038 hours; for a six-day work week with a day off on Sunday - 2044 hours. According to experts, the established calculated standard working time is used by the employer to determine the number of employees, the duration of working time during which the employee is required to be at the workplace, drawing up work schedules (shifts), as well as for the purpose of monitoring compliance with the working time standards established Labor Code.

There are 366 calendar days in 2016. Of this number of days, with a five-day working week there will be 255 working days, and with a six-day working week - 308 working days (12 are taken into account calendar months). The average monthly number of working days in 2016 will be 21.3 days for a five-day working week, and 25.7 days for a six-day working week.

When determining the number of working days, the number of calendar days excludes weekends according to the calendar of a five-day (Saturday and Sunday) or six-day (Sunday) working week, as well as public holidays and holidays that are declared non-working days. In 2016, non-working holidays will be 1st of January - New Year; Jan. 7- Nativity ( Orthodox Christmas); March 8- Women's Day; 1st of May- Labor Day; 9th May- Victory Day; May 10- Radunitsa (according to the calendar of the Orthodox denomination); 3 July- Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus (Republic Day); November 7- Day October revolution; December 25

In 2016, Sundays are holidays: 1st of May- Labor Day, 3 July- Independence Day, December 25- Nativity of Christ (Catholic Christmas).

Duration of work on the working day immediately preceding national holiday or holiday, is reduced by one hour. With a five-day work week 6th January And March 7 are working days before holidays. With a six-day working week, the pre-holiday days are: January 6, March 7, April 30, July 2 and December 24, December 31. This rule applies to all workers, regardless of the length of their working hours, the ministry emphasized.

When planning working hours in 2016, it is necessary to take into account that, in accordance with government decree, working days in 2016 are postponed from Fridays January 8 on Saturday January 16, from Monday March 7 on Saturday 5th of March. At the same time, the standard working time for the first and second quarters does not change. -0-
