He comes with his assistant Knecht Ruprecht, who keeps a journal detailing the actions of the children. In the 19th century. Ruprecht performed not only secretarial duties: he grabbed the most notorious mischievous people, stuffed them into a bag or into a huge pocket of his cloak and carried them into the forest. The oldest New Year character is Nimand (Nobody). German children blamed him for being naughty or breaking something. On a festive night, he came on a donkey and brought sweets to obedient children. New Year is the most favorite holiday for children. Even before the arrival of the New Year, New Year's markets open everywhere, lights on the trees are lit. In every home, both children and adults are preparing for his arrival. At midnight on December 31, with the last strike of the clock, the New Year begins. In the morning, under the tree, children find gifts left by Santa Claus and Snegurochka. It happens in Russia. And in other countries?

Santa Claus appeared long ago. This is the magician who comes to wish everyone a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. And, of course, not empty-handed. Necessarily with gifts. In every country his name is different.
Let's get acquainted with the foreign colleagues of our Santa Claus.

Slide 2.

Santa Claus from different countries of the world is a relative of our beloved grandfather. Morozko, Studenets, Treskun - all this is one character of Slavic mythology, the lord of winter and frost. Our ancestors imagined him as an old man with a long white beard. A strong chill began from his breathing. Icicles appeared from his tears. The words he said turned to frost. Snow clouds are his hair. In winter, Santa Claus bypasses forests, fields, streets. He taps his ice staff, and severe frosts freeze rivers, streams, puddles with ice. As soon as he hits the corner of the hut, the log will certainly burst. Morozko does not really like those who complain about the cold and shiver from the cold. And people who are cheerful and vigorous are given strength of spirit and a bright blush. Santa Claus is strong from November to March.

Santa Claus is a tall, thin, but strong old man. Stern, dignified, unsmiling, but kind and fair. walks in a white, blue or red sheepskin coat, with a long white beard and a staff in his hand, in felt boots. Pants are usually hidden under a sheepskin coat and are practically invisible, but linen pants and a shirt are white or decorated with ornaments. Belted with a wide belt. Wears embroidered mittens. Rides three horses. He is inseparable from his granddaughter Snegurochka. Sometimes the Snowman can accompany Since 1998, Veliky Ustyug has been considered the official residence of Father Frost in Russia. Since 2005, the official birthday of Father Frost has been January 18, when the first severe frosts usually strike in Veliky Ustyug.

Slide 3.

The winter wizard from Yakutia has a peculiar costume - he wears a hat with bull horns, and the clothes are simply amazing with the luxurious decoration. The image of Chyskhaan, the Yakut Bull of Winter, combined in itself two prototypes - a bull and a mammoth, symbolizing strength, wisdom and power.

According to the legend of the Yakut people, in autumn Chyskhaan comes out of the ocean onto land, bringing cold and frost with it. In the spring, the horns of Chyskhaan fall off - the frost weakens, then the head falls off - spring comes, and the body of ice is carried away to the ocean, where it miraculously recovers until next autumn.

The Yakut Chyskhaan has its own residence in Oymyakon, where guests can come to it and receive cold and frost as a gift.

Slide 4.

Pakkaine is completely different from the kind and old Grandfather Frost we are used to. On the contrary, he is a mischievous, red-cheeked, cheerful and handsome guy. He is the youngest among his colleagues - Morozov and, perhaps, suits many of them only as grandchildren.

However, Pakkaine has his own unusual legend about the origin: he is the son of a merchant, who was born at the beginning of winter (December 1) right in a sleigh in severe frost when returning from the fair of a trade convoy to the city of Olonets. In honor of such an unusual birth of an unusually strong and healthy boy, he was named Pakkaine (in Karelian Morozets). He grew very quickly, as they say, "by leaps and bounds." And in just a few years, he turned from a kid into a young red-haired handsome man with a wonderful character, who, having taken over his father's merchant business, travels the world, sells overseas sweets and Olonets laces in other cities at home. And no, even the most severe cold, he does not care. And he also has an amazing magical ability to "clone" his own kind of twin brothers. One of his favorite activities, wherever he comes, is to spin in front of the mirror and admire himself. Before he has time to look away, his reflection immediately comes to life and gets out of the magic mirror, continuing to live in the city where Pakkaine once again stayed. Over the course of a year, there were countless numbers of such Brothers-Frosts in different cities. And in winter every year they all go to Olonets - to the homeland of Pakkaine, where special competitions are organized - the Winter Olonets Games. Here wizards-colleagues in difficult tests of their magical power and demonstration of their extraordinary abilities, competing with each other, find out who is the best and most "real" of them.

Slide 5.

In Finland, Santa Claus has a very funny name, Joulupukki. Translated, this name means the Christmas goat. And this name was given to Santa Claus only because at Christmas he drives around on a cart pulled by a goat. Joulupukki looks very interesting too, he is wearing a short red fur coat and a cone-shaped red hat. His assistants, the gnomes, are always with him, and Youlupukki himself, due to his short stature, is very similar to a gnome. Joulupukki has a wife, her name is Muori, with whom they have lived for a very long time on Mount Korvaptupturi. And he also has a very subtle hearing, because even a whispered desire, he can hear without difficulty. Therefore, he knows all the wishes that children make for the Christmas holidays.

Slide 6.

Swedish Santa Claus Jul Tomten -

Fabulous magic gnome,

With your snowman

Fairies, gnomes, elves too

Everyone who can enchant

Together they wish us happiness!

The kids in Sweden are waiting for Christmas gifts from a gnome who looks a bit like our brownie. He hides at Christmas in the underground of every house. His name is Yul Tomten. He usually lives in a protected forest with picturesque valleys and lakes. He is helped by the cheerful snowman Dusty, the prince with the princess, mischievous mice, the King with the Snow Queen, witches and numerous elves.

Slide 7.

Mongolia has its own Santa Claus, his name is Uvlin Uvgun, and they accompany himZazan Okhin (Snow Maiden) and Shina Zhila (boy New Year). In his hands is a long whip, flint, flint and snuffbox. It depends on him whether there will be enough milk and meat for the New Year's table.

Slide 8.

Uzbek Santa Claus - Corbobo To the delight of the children, on New Year's Eve he drives into the villages on a donkey, himself in a striped robe, in a patterned skullcap. And the Snow Maiden is with himKorgyz also in a skullcap and she also has many, many braids, like any Uzbek girl.

Slide 9.

Czech Grandfather Mikulas comes to every house on the night of December 6th. This is the night beforeday of St. Nicholas. Outwardly, he looks like the twin of our Santa Claus. He has the same long fur coat, staff, hat. Only now he brings gifts in a back box and is accompanied not by a charming Snow Maiden, but by a beautiful angel in white clothes and a shaggy imp. Mikulas brings oranges, apples and various sweets to good and obedient children. In the "Christmas boot" of a slacker or a bully, there is a piece of coal or a potato. For many, it remains a mystery how Grandfather Mikulas gets along with the Hedgehog.

This is probably the most modest and inconspicuousnew year character worldwide. He throws gifts to children. Hedgehog is very careful to ensure that no one sees him. That is why the appearance of this good-natured person remains a mystery. But if a Christmas bell tinkles on the tree, Czech and Slovak children rush to look at their gifts. "Who brought this?" - ask the most foolish kids. "Hedgehogs!" - parents answer with a smile.

Slide 10.

Saint Nicholas is considered the very first, senior Santa Claus. He is dressed in a snow-white bishop's mantle and miter, this wizard rides on a horse. Saint Nicholas congratulates the children in Belgium and gives gifts, he is accompanied everywhere by the Moor Black Peter, in whose hands are rods for mischievous people, and behind his back is a bag with gifts for obedient children.

Each family that will give shelter to St. Nicholas will receive a golden apple from him.

Slide 11.

He is accompanied by many black servants who help with travel and preparations for the festive New Year's celebrations.

Slide 12.

There are two Santa Clauses in France. One is called Peer Noel. He is kind and brings gifts to children in a basket. The second Santa Claus is called Shaland - a bearded old man who wears a fur hat and a warm travel raincoat. In his basket are hidden rods for naughty and lazy children.

Slide 13.

An Italian winter wizard comes to every home. He does not need doors - he uses the chimney to descend from the roof into the room. In order for Babbe Natale to have a little food on the way, children always leave a cup of milk by the fireplace or stove.

Slide 14.

In Italy, children are waiting for the fairy Befana for the New Year. She organized a holiday in this country: she brought sweets and toys to good children. But the bad ones got only extinct coals. In Italy, there is a belief that Befan is brought to the stars. She gets into housesacross chimney, he puts surprises in stockings, which are suspended in advance from the hoods of the hearths.

There is another version - the fairy arrives in an “earthly” way - on a cute donkey loaded with a bale of gifts. Befana opens the doors with a golden key and fills her shoes with sweets and souvenirs.

Slide 15.
