Tag watch instruction in Russian. TAG Heuer Connected smartwatch review

In the age of rapidly developing technologies, the wristwatch industry does not stand aside. In 2017, the Swiss company TAG Heuer presented a smartwatch in an elegant sporty design.

The intrigue lies in the fact that before us are not only the first and only smart watches made in Switzerland, their design is also of interest - all elements can be changed at will. A case, a strap, a dial, a module with classical mechanics or a microprocessor - in fact, this is not just one watch, but a whole constructor. Today our attention is focused on the TAG Heuer Connected Modular smartwatch, let's take a closer look at them.

Replaceable element design

The modular system opens up endless possibilities for personalization: it allows you to choose shades and materials of the case, lugs, strap, bracelet and clasp depending on your mood. Replacement is done independently in several movements. More than 50 combinations are available in total.

Turning on

At first acquaintance, the watch must be connected to a power source. The device will "wake up" the multifunctional power button - the crown, also known as the "Power" button. Tap the watch face and follow the instructions - choose a language, agree to the terms and conditions, scroll down the list and select the name of the watch. The next step is to download the Wear OS / Android Wear app from Google Play or the App Store and install it on your smartphone.

Navigation

The enhanced Android WEAR 2.0 operating system contains new ways to navigate and interact. The crown wakes up the watch and opens the application menu. When you are already in Menu mode, pressing the button takes you back to the watch face. Hold the button a little longer and the Google voice assistant is activated.

Menu navigation is carried out by touching the screen with your finger. Moving up or down moves apps around the circumference of the watch. Swipe from left to right - this will take you back one step.

In the dial mode - displaying the current time, you can access the "quick settings" by swiping down. You will see icons for airplane mode, brightness, settings, and do not disturb. Also in the dial mode, a long touch of the screen opens the "settings" menu.

Synchronization

TAG Heuer Connected has Bluetooth and WiFi transmitters for communicating with a smartphone. Thanks to them, users have access to various interactive possibilities: receiving incoming calls and messages, viewing them and answering them, accessing the Internet on their own and installing new applications directly from a wrist accessory. Bluetooth will provide uninterrupted communication with a smartphone at a distance of up to 10 meters, and WiFi is useful if, for example, you forgot your phone at home or in the office.

What's inside?

Inside the case is a modern Intel Atom Z34XX processor with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. A watch with such characteristics works quickly and without lags.

The touchscreen display is made using AMOLED technology - currently it is the best offer on the market: high resolution and color reproduction, rich and bright colors. Having worked with this once, other types of displays will seem dull and expressionless.

Dial design

The watch is easy to personalize not only with replaceable elements, but also by customizing the appearance of the display. Dial with three hands, with GMT function or chronograph with counters - choose a ready-made version or create your own. "Wake up" the watch and slide your finger from right to left. To activate the watch face you want, tap it to create a new theme - select the TAG Heuer Studio option and follow the prompts.

Access to many applications

Smart watches are a real smartphone in miniature. Activate the WiFi function on your smartphone. To install a new application directly from the watch, click on the crown, a menu will open, then select the item with the Google Play Store icon, log in and register with your Google account. After that, you will see a list of compatible applications.

To remove out-of-date apps, swipe down on the watch face, tap the Power button, select the Settings icon, then Apps. You will see a list of all installed applications, select the one you want to uninstall and click “Uninstall”.

Working with notifications

To view notifications in watch face mode, swipe up for details, tap it. To respond to the notification, select "Reply" - write it with a swipe of your finger, use the integrated keyboard, smiley or voice dialing. The microphone is located under the crown, its sensitivity is enough to just raise your hand and speak, you don't have to bring the watch right to your mouth.

Gps

The built-in GPS sensor allows you to track your daily physical activity and is also responsible for the correct operation of the Maps application. By choosing the latter, you get the opportunity to determine your location, monitor your speed and the correct route in navigation mode. So your new watch is both a navigator and an assistant in sports achievements.

NFC

We did not pass by the contactless payment that is relevant today. The built-in NFC chip allows you to use Android Pay when making purchases without directly using a bank card or smartphone. The function is connected through the "Settings" in the general menu - select "Connection" and then "NFC". As soon as the function is activated, the icon turns blue and moves to the right. For added safety, the function only works if the watch is on your wrist.

Charger

The built-in battery allows all systems to work for 25 hours. As soon as the battery level becomes low, the power saving mode is activated. To charge the device, use a USB cable: it must be connected to the bottom of the watch and connected to a power source.

Battery:

At the first sign of insufficient power supply (if the timing is slow), the battery should be replaced at your nearest watch workshop by a qualified technician. The watch you purchased contains a factory-installed battery for testing purposes, so the battery life is likely to be shortened from the standard battery.

Water protection:

Light ingress of moisture is allowed when protecting watches marked with water resistance 30m (3 atm.) Watch with water resistance of 5 atm. designed for swimming. From 10 atm. submersion under water with a pressure of no more than 10 atm is allowed.

Watch care.

Never try to open the case or remove the back cover.

Do not expose the watch to extreme (high or low) temperatures.

Avoid rough handling and do not drop the watch.

Do not fasten the strap too tight. There should be a finger between your wrist and the strap.

To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild, neutral detergent solution in water. Never use highly volatile agents (such as benzine, thinner, spray cleaning agents, etc.) for this.

When you are not using your watch, store it in a dry place.

Avoid spraying the watch with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials will damage the polish of the case and erode the coating on the strap.

During operation, natural erasure of the coating of the watch case and bracelet is allowed.

Regular exposure to sweat or moisture on a leather or plastic strap, or prolonged contact with dry hot air, can damage the strap, tear or crack. In order to ensure a long service life of the strap, carry out regular care of it, observing the above conditions.

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to fade gradually (for watches with fluorescent body parts).

Do not set the date and day of the week between 8:00 pm and 4:00 am. (The day of the week and the number displayed on the display may not change the next day, this may also damage the mechanism).

How to set the current time.

Pull the wheel out to the second click so that the second hand stops just when it points to 12 o'clock.

Turn the arrows forward and set the time four or five minutes longer than the current time. Then move the arrows back and set them according to the current time.

Press the wheel back in while the time signals are playing.

How to set the current day of the month.

Pull out the wheel to the first click.

Set the current day of the month by turning the wheel.

Press the wheel back in.

Please note: For some watch models, the wheel is attached to the thread and in order to set the time and date, it must be unscrewed by several turns clockwise. Reverse in the same order, setting the time, press in the wheel (overcoming the resistance of the spring) and twist it several turns counterclockwise.

Days of the week

Note that the representation on the day of the week dial is in English:

Monday - MON

Tuesday - TUE

Wednesday - WED

Thursday - THU

Friday - FRI

Saturday - SAT

Sunday - SUN

Stopwatch operation in quartz models:

The stopwatch is activated by the top button. Pressing this button again stops the stopwatch. Pressing the lower button will reset the stopwatch to zero.

If the stopwatch value is knocked down, the hand does not return to position 12, this is set by the upper button with the crown open.

To set the stopwatch, open the crown all the way and pressing the top button let the central hand make a full circle until it reaches position 12. Close the crown in this position. When starting, then stopping and resetting the stopwatch, the hand will return to its original position.

The most basic rules for setting the time in mechanical and quartz wristwatches.

  1. Pull out the transfer head (or unscrew to the left and then pull out *).
  2. Place the second hand at number 12.
  3. Set the minute hand by turning the crown.
  4. Finish setting the time by bringing the conversion head to its original position (or press and screw it to the right until it stops *).
Instructions for use of Rolex watches.

Note of the wristwatch operating instructions: in a mechanical watch, the minute hand should be stopped 5-10 minutes before the actual time, then slowly bring it to the correct parameters. In quartz watches, the minute hand should be stopped 4-5 minutes higher than the actual parameters, then return it back, stopping at the correct time.
* for models with a screw-down conversion head.

Rules for setting the calendar (date / day of the week).

The setting of the calendar in mechanical and quartz watches must be carried out consistently and strictly observing the rules for using a wristwatch *.

  • Pull out the transfer knob (or first unscrew it to the left and then pull out **) one position.
  • Turning the crown, set the value to the previous date / day of the week from the required date.
  • When the second hand reaches the number 12, pull the crown out to the next position (second).
  • Set the actual date / day of the week by turning the crown.
  • To correct the date / day of the week, pull the crown out one position and set the correct value. ***

* It is not recommended to set the date between 9 pm and 4 am. Due to the design features of watch devices, during this period of time there is a clutch of mechanisms that rotate the wheel of the entire calendar system. Additional force, which is transferred by means of the conversion head to the wheels of the system during the date setting, can damage the entire calendar system.
** for models with a screw-down conversion head.
It should be borne in mind that most models have a calendar from 1 to 31 days, therefore, in those months that do not have 31 numbers (February, April, June, September, November), the calendar will need to be checked and adjusted on the last day of the current month or on the first day of the next month.

Chronometers and Chronographs.

As a rule, users often mistakenly think that chronometers and chronographs are one and the same device. Yes, both devices are watches, but in fact they are different types of products. Chronometers are high precision watches. The accuracy of chronometers does not depend on any external influences and circumstances. They are unaffected by changes in the position of the housing, mechanical vibrations (shocks, shocks) or ambient temperature. A watch can be called a chronometer only after this product has received a special certificate focused on specific standards. For this, the mechanism is subjected to many necessary tests and long-term checks. Thus, even a chronograph of the highest quality and precision can be called a chronometer.

Chronographs are watches capable of measuring specified time values (seconds, minutes and hours) along with the usual functions, with an accuracy of fractions of a second. Thus, chronographs have two independently functioning systems. For this, chronographs provide not only the main dial, but also additional small dials. Chronographs are also equipped with additional buttons on the side of the case (next to the transfer crown). There are different models of chronographs, the main difference being the number of counters installed.

Setting up a quartz chronometer.

Time setting / setting.

  1. Pull the crown out to the third position (maximum), while the second hand should stop.
  2. To set the actual time, turn the crown in the desired direction.
  3. After setting the correct time value, return the crown to its original position.

Setting the date.

  1. Pull out the conversion head to the second (middle) position.
  2. Rotate in the desired direction to set the actual parameters.
  3. Return to original (first) position.

Setting the chronograph function.

  1. Press button "A" to start the stopwatch (start the central second hand).
  2. To stop the counter, press the same button again.
  3. The third press on the "A" button again starts the stopwatch counter (measurements continue from the same point at which the stop was made).
  4. To reset the stopwatch measurement parameters, press the "B" button (you can press the "B" button only after the stopwatch has stopped!).

Setting the chronograph hands to any position.

  1. Pull crown out to third position.
  2. Set the central second hand by short pressing of button "A".
  3. Also, by short-term pressing of the "B" button, the scale arrow is set to 1/10 sec.
  4. Move the crown to the middle (second) position.
  5. Set the minute scale hand by short pressing of the "B" button.
  6. Return the conversion head to the first (home) position.

I hope that this wristwatch instruction manual has helped you set up your watch or find an answer to your questions!

The iconic TAG Heuer Carrera SpaceX chronograph was released in 2012 in a limited edition of 2012 pieces. The watch was made by the American company SpaceX, which explores space regardless of the state. This model is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the flight of watches into outer space, then back in 1962. The prototype, taken as the basis for the manufacture of the modern Tag Hoer model, the Heuer 2915A stopwatch was present on the wrist of the famous astronaut John Glenn, who circled the Earth three times, and then returned safely.

To perpetuate this fact, the back of the chronometer depicts the Space-X capsule and the Falcon-9 launch vehicle of the Dragon spacecraft.

The first Swiss stopwatch to visit the Earth's orbit was a small device similar in appearance and size to a wristwatch, similar accuracy of technical characteristics, then no one in the world possessed.

It has a standard hand-wound movement with a crown located at 12 o'clock. The second hand moves along the scale located along the perimeter of the dial, the minute counter is located in the upper part opposite 12 o'clock, and the hour counter is located opposite the 6 o'clock position. The start and stop of the stopwatch is carried out by lightly pressing the base of the crown; to return to the initial position, use the button located in the region of 10 seconds.

Description of the technical characteristics of TAG Heuer

The TAG Heuer Carrera SpaceX watch in its modern model has a round white dial with a diameter of 43 mm and a thickness of 11 mm. A chronograph scale is located around its circumference. All timestamps are exclusively black. Their belonging to space flight is emphasized by the inscription “First Swiss Watch in Space” and the image of the Dragon spacecraft and its Falcon 9 launch vehicle, just at the nine o'clock mark as conceived by the watchmakers. They also did not forget to put the jubilee mark "1962-2012".

This is with regard to their extraterrestrial affiliation, now briefly about the peculiarities of hour markers: they are made in the form of numbers of seconds counters, and not, as usual, in the form of 12 hours. As planned, they look like a stopwatch, with a seconds scale located at an angle of 85 degrees, relative to the plane of the dial. Such an extraordinary design gives this model sophistication and unique charm.

The hands are made in black to match the indexes of the dial, while the minute and hour hands are perforated almost along their entire length, which gives them a special look.

This iconic model is equipped with a reliable Swiss-made ETA 7750S Caliber 1887, assembled by hand, by the way, it can be seen through the transparent case back made of sapphire crystal. It also, like the dial, depicts the attributes of the space theme and the emblem of the SpaceX corporation with the corporate inscription. Full winding is enough for two days of perfect operation of the mechanism.

You should pay attention to the bracelet, which unfolds by pressing a special lock. Its design is made in such a way that it will never be able to unfasten spontaneously, and therefore it is simply impossible to lose the watch. The perforated leather strap is crafted from high quality leather and is incredibly durable despite being 22 millimeters wide.

SpaceX's Significance in the Making of Tag Hoer Watches

Founded in 2002, the independent SpaceX corporation is located in California, whose activities are aimed at transporting special-purpose cargo to the ISS Earth satellite.

Back to history, on May 31, 2012, another cargo was sent to the International Space Station along with the TAGHeuer Space-X chronograph, and after returning it back to Earth, it continued to work perfectly, despite the transferred gravitational overloads. And it is not surprising that quality was given special importance, which allowed it to gain worldwide recognition.

In honor of this event, and in order to perpetuate the memory of the chronograph who visited outer space, it was located in the Museum of Cosmonautics in San Diego, next to its progenitor Heuer 2915A.

The Space X model was released in a limited edition of 2012 pieces at a price of $ 5800 and was fully redeemed in a short time.

Is TAG Heuer Connected a gadget for men?

Since the watch has a rather massive structure and is heavier than the Apple Watch, TAG Connected is positioned as an exclusively men's watch, which emphasizes its brutal shape. This decision is explained by the fact that it is much easier to place computer elements in a large and massive case.
