Dye your hair with natural dyes at home. Colored hair dye: preparation at home

Every woman wants to look great, regardless of age and social status. However, most of them are constantly dissatisfied with something. Especially often negative emotions in women are caused by their hairstyles: some beauties believe that the color of their hair is not good enough, others find a lock of gray hair and begin to think in panic how to deal with it.

It is for such disgruntled women that today we will talk about natural dyes for hair, find out how to effectively mask gray hair or radically change the image.

Natural hair dye that you can do at home

Not all women know, but in nature there are such natural dyes that can change hair color beyond recognition, turning, for example, naturally light curls into dark ones. Such components help to paint over the gray strands, to give the hair a more saturated tone, in general, to "revive" the hairstyle.

A huge plus of the procedure with natural dyes is that they do not spoil the hair, all manipulations can be carried out at home, and this will save money and time for visiting the salon.

So, first of all, we will learn how to prepare a natural hair dye that paints over gray hair.

For this you will need:

  • clean water - 2 glasses;
  • ½ cup sage

Combine the ingredients in a small saucepan and heat for about half an hour. Then strain the broth and let it brew for several hours in a dark place. Apply the resulting product to your hair twice a week. The more often you do the procedure, the darker your hair tone will be. By the way, the composition gives the curls a chestnut shade, keep this in mind before applying the broth. Suddenly you don't like this color.

Another recipe for making natural hair dye at home, which will allow beauties with the first signs of gray hair to disguise it, becoming a brown-haired woman.

  1. To prepare natural hair dye, take 30 g of alder bark and 1 liter of clean water.
  2. Pour the liquid into a saucepan and boil, add the bark to the container and leave to “gurgle” on minimum heat for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the resulting broth, let it cool and can be applied to the hair.

It is worth noting that it is not always possible to paint over “silver” in a hairstyle the first time, so you can repeat the procedure as many times as necessary to obtain the desired shade. Apply any composition with rubber gloves in order to avoid staining the nails and skin of the hands.

The paint can be prepared on the basis of henna.

  • To do this, take 2 tablespoons of powder, add a little lemon juice to it, 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese and ground coffee each, pour in water.
  • Its amount should be such that the mixture resembles thick sour cream.
  • Mix everything thoroughly and distribute evenly over the curls, leaving the mixture to be absorbed for 120-180 minutes.

You can also make another coloring composition based on henna and coffee, which will perfectly revive the dark blond hair.

  1. To prepare the product, mix equal parts coffee and henna, add olive oil to them.
  2. Stir everything thoroughly and apply the resulting gruel to the hair. Such a tool will not only color the curls, but also give the hairstyle a healthier look, smoothing out the damage.

Making natural black hair dye yourself is also not so difficult.

  • To do this, grind the walnut shell, add a little salt and water to the resulting "powder".
  • Cook the composition on a minimum heat for a quarter of an hour, then leave to infuse for 48 hours.
  • When 2 days have passed, the resulting "brew" can be applied to the curls.
  • This black substance will make the hair color darker and more saturated.

If you wish, you can make your own natural henna-based hair dye to lighten the curls. To create such a coloring composition, take vodka, dried chamomile and henna. The flowers should be placed in a convenient container and filled with alcohol. In this form, chamomile should stand for 10 days, after which henna, previously diluted with water, is added to the container. All ingredients are mixed, and the product remains in a cool dark place for another 10-14 days. After 2 weeks, the prepared "potion" can be applied to the hair.

Leave the mixture on the hair for one hour, then rinse with warm water.

Gray hair will take on a straw yellow tint if you rinse it with strong black tea after each wash!

Hair dyeing with rhubarb is an ancient method.

This plant contains an orange-yellow chrysophanic acid that will give your hair a golden hue. Depending on the color of your hair, you can get straw-yellow or light brown shades. Dig up the roots of rhubarb at least three years old in the spring, chop and dry in the shade. If it is very difficult, buy one from the pharmacy.

For short hair you need 10g, for long hair - 20g,

for very long ones - 30g dry rhubarb.

Pour the chopped root with 200 g of cold water, boil for 15 - 20 minutes, stirring all the time, so as not to burn. A thick mass is formed. It must be cooled and allowed to brew a little. Sometimes a pinch of baking soda is added to add a dark brown hue. The infusion of rhubarb is added to pure henna so that the bright color inherent in henna becomes more muted. In this case, the proportions are observed - 30 g of rhubarb powder and 70 g of henna powder.

If you have blonde hair,

and you want light-haired with a golden or copper tint, then after shampooing, rinse your hair with the following composition: fill in 2 tbsp. tablespoons of chopped rhubarb roots 1 glass of cold water, put on fire and boil for 15-20 minutes with constant stirring, then cool and strain.

The entire composition is brought to a boil, then kept over low heat until half of the solution is obtained. Rinse your hair only when it is clean, after washing.

For normal to oily hair.

To obtain a light brown shade, you can use another recipe: grind 200 g of rhubarb (leaves and roots) and boil in 0.5 liters of white grape wine until half the original volume is obtained.

As for such means as henna and basma, this is a separate topic that should be discussed more.))

Here look at the shades -

The female part of the population in Soviet times knew perfectly well how to make hair dye from natural materials to add saturation to the natural hair color or slightly tint the natural pigment.

It is difficult for you and me to imagine that once on the shelves of the store there were no hair dyes at all, with the exception of henna, basma and two shades of coloring balm. Hair dyes, as an industrial product, simply did not exist, so they dyed and tinted everything that could give at least some shade. Today, many recipes have not lost their relevance due to the beneficial effect of the products used on the hair structure and skin health that accompany coloring.

The combination of natural ingredients in home color dye helps to enhance the natural color of the hair, giving shine and brighter shades, but can change it if you use home dye on blonde hair.

How to make red and copper hair dye

If you have light brown hair, using the following tips, you can achieve a rather bright copper or red color. For brown hair, you only get a slight copper sheen.
The following ingredients can give your hair a red color: red hibiscus tea, rose hips and cloves. A very strong decoction must be made from each of these ingredients. It is better not to use hibiscus broth on light brown hair, as the result may be too bright red.

Wash your hair with shampoo, then lower it down over the bathtub, placing the container at the bottom of the bath so that the broth flowing from the hair gets into it. This way you can spill the same broth several times, increasing the coloring effect. After the last rinse with a colored broth, wring out your hair with a towel and walk like this for another 15 minutes, then rinse your hair under running water.

You can also fill a bottle with a spray bottle with a decoction and from time to time spray the liquid on hair that is still damp after washing.

How to make dark hair dye

The most affordable option is to dye your hair with strong coffee, getting a beautiful nutty shade. The saturation of the shade will depend on the strength of the prepared coffee; it is more efficient to use coffee for espresso. Brew a serving three times harder than you would normally boil. The procedure for toning hair with a coffee drink repeats the procedure described above.

Dark hair can be easily tinted with strong tea leaves. Before making tea hair dye, you need to find a small enamel bowl. For a good result, it is advisable to take large-leaf black tea: pour 2 tablespoons of dry leaves with a liter of boiling water and "brew" them for half an hour. Washed wet hair is rinsed with the resulting liquid.

How to make a dye for blonde hair

Probably everyone immediately comes to mind with a lemon, which is completely justified. A mixture of water and lemon juice can lighten the pigment on blonde hair a little, and the new lighter shade will look completely natural (). To prepare the coloring composition, mix 1 part lemon juice with 1 part water, fill a sprayer with the mixture and spray the mixture along the entire length of the hair. For the reaction to go better, the hair should be dried in the open sun for about 15 minutes.

Rinsing hair with infusion of medicinal chamomile gives it a golden yellow tint. For one rinsing, it is enough to pour 25 g of flowers with three quarters of a glass of hot water and keep the infusion under the lid for an hour. Rinse clean hair with strained liquid. Thanks to this care, the hair becomes soft, manageable, shiny and acquires a natural golden hue.

And of course, for any original hair color, you can use henna and basma. These natural dyes give the best effect when both powders are used at the same time (for brown and dark brown hair). They can drastically change color, therefore the first attempts to use should begin with a short staining time in order to select individual proportions and time for applying the gruel. So, you can revive the light brown hair color and add a golden hue to it if you dilute half a 25 g bag of henna in half a glass of hot water (not boiling water) and moisten the washed hair with the solution. You need to rinse them (to begin with) after 10 minutes.

The use of natural ingredients in hair dyeing not only gives saturation to the natural color, but also changes its shade. Hair improvement becomes a pleasant bonus of such coloring.

The current range of hair dyes is surprising, but most of them have chemical constituents that mercilessly destroy the health of those who use them, as well as the hair.

Fortunately, there is an opportunity to replace chemical paints with natural ones. Dyeing your hair with natural dyes is the best option, especially for those who have allergic reactions to hair dyes.

Natural hair dyes are - most often henna and basma , and walnut, tea, coffee, onion husks, chamomile, etc. ... It is advisable to use such dyes on hair, where there are no traces of perm or coloring with any chemical dye. Natural dyes do not harm your hair. On the contrary, they give the hair shine, silkiness and natural color. The only drawback of natural dyes is their lack of stability. Each time after the next washing of the hair, part of the coloring pigment is washed off. Therefore, if you decide to dye your hair with natural dyes, then after each washing your hair you will have to reapply it. The exception is henna and basma, their color lasts longer.

All natural dyes are applied to clean and damp hair with a sponge, brush or cotton swab. It should also be borne in mind that thin and sparse hair is colored with natural dyes faster and requires less dye. Thick, thick and long hair requires longer exposure and more natural dye.

When starting to dye your hair at home with natural dye, do not forget to put oilcloth, polyethylene or an old towel over your shoulders, and wear rubber gloves. At the same time, divide the hair into partings and lubricate with natural paint from roots to ends. As they grow, paint over only the roots.

After applying natural dye to your hair, wrap your head with cellophane and warm it on top with a terry towel. After that, you need to try to increase the blood circulation of the vessels of the brain (so that the paint better grabs with the hair). To do this, you need to drink some kind of strong drink: tea with lemon, coffee, mulled wine. You can just drink 20g. cognac or a little coffee with cognac.

When dyeing your hair at home, it is impossible to predict in advance what color your hair will get. To save yourself from unpleasant surprises, we advise you to play it safe: before dyeing all your hair, try dyeing one small strand first.

Before giving preference to a certain shade, it is necessary to take into account many factors: the color of the skin, eyes, as well as the ability and desire to keep the head in order after dyeing the hair. When choosing a hair color, remember that too dark hair accentuates age, wrinkles, tired skin and fatigue. If you have a lot of gray hair, choose a color that is slightly lighter than natural.

"If you dye your hair, you will soon go bald." Probably every girl who changed her hair color at least once heard this phrase. In fact, modern paints nourish, shine and even laminate. But, unfortunately, dyeing at home can lead to unpleasant consequences, ranging from unexpected color to brittle hair and split hair. To avoid this, you need to follow a number of simple rules.

websitecollected tips to help you dye your hair at home as well as in the salon, and do without unpleasant surprises.

Decide on the type of dye

Before dyeing your hair, you need to decide not only on the color, but also on the type of dye. They can be divided into four categories: blonde, physical, chemical and natural. They differ in the variety of color palette, durability, depth of penetration into the hair.

To buy a dye, it is better to contact a professional hair cosmetics store, where sales consultants will help you choose the right shade and oxide that will cause minimal harm to your hair.

Blonding dyes

Blond dyes can lighten your hair three or more tones. They work by removing the natural pigment from the hair - melanin. Blond dyes should be applied to dry and dirty hair, but heating curls during staining is extremely harmful and even dangerous. For specialblond, oxides of high percentages are used - from 6% and above.

Remember that paint does not lighten paint. And to lighten previously dyed hair, it is better to use powder, which should be purchased at a specialized store. It is mixed with oxide in a 1: 2 ratio, where one part is powder, and two parts is oxide.

Apply the brightening powder starting from the back of the head, stepping back 3–5 cm from the roots. The roots are painted over last. The temperature at the roots is higher, the reaction is faster there. It is better to clarify on oxides up to 6%. A high percentage of oxide can simply curl up the protein, causing the hair to turn yellow, and all further manipulations with bleaching will not bring the desired result. Never add water, shampoo, or balm to the mixture. This violates the clarification technology and the result becomes unpredictable.

Chemical dyes

This group of colorants also consists of two components: paint and oxide. Hair color change occurs by the penetration of dye molecules into the hair. Chemical dyes paint over gray hair well and have a varied palette of shades. Before applying them to your hair, be sure to do an allergy test on the bend of your elbow.

A chemical dye is applied to dry, dirty hair, starting from the back of the head and moving to the forehead. Then comb the hair with a non-metallic comb to distribute the color evenly.

These include toning hair dyes. These are coloring tonics, foams, gels, masks. They envelop the outside of the hair with a film and do not react with the hair pigment. These dyes are one-component, they are not mixed with the oxide. They will not be able to lighten your hair, so the resulting colors can be either darker or tone-on-tone.

Physical dyes are applied to freshly washed hair. They can be mixed with each other to obtain new interesting shades and tint hair after lightening. Unfortunately, hair that is too dark is not exposed to physical dyes, preliminary lightening is required. The longer the exposure of the dye on the hair, the brighter and richer the color.

Natural dyes

We chose the paint, and this is half the success. The second half is proper application.

  • Before you start coloring, drink hot tea, coffee or mulled wine to improve blood circulation in the vessels of the scalp.
  • Do not forget about protection - gloves and a cape on the shoulders. Apply a rich cream or petroleum jelly to the ears, neck and hairline. They will prevent the dye from absorbing into the skin.
  • If you are in doubt about whether a color is right for you and how it will fit your hair, then do a strand test. Color a small section of hair and check the result after 24 hours.
  • Add a vitamin complex or auxiliary substances to the coloring mixture that protect the hair. You can also buy them in specialized stores.
  • Mix hair dye in a non-metallic container and apply to hair immediately.
  • Divide the hair into 4 sections: the back of the head, two temporal and the frontal. The paint should be applied along the parting from the back of the head, moving towards the forehead. At the back of the head, the body temperature is lower, which means that the staining process will take place more slowly. Whiskey is dyed last. Start coloring the strand from the roots - and to the ends of the hair. The exposure time should be counted only after the entire composition has been applied to the hair.
  • Use micellar water, rubbing alcohol, or a makeup remover to wipe the paint off your scalp, hands and neck.

Don't forget to leave

Care after dyeing will help preserve not only hair color, but also its quality. Anti-dandruff shampoos and detergents for oily hair irritate the scalp and wash out the color very quickly. Therefore, it is better to use a ruler for colored hair or baby shampoo.

There are balms and masks containing pigments on the hair care market.that maintain hair color or neutralize yellowness. They are applied in the same way as conventional care compositions, held for several minutes and washed off.
