The boxes can be used for the following purposes:
- as organizers (for example, sorting documents, and so on);
- put things in them that are not used every day (for example, New Year's toys);

Most often, solid packaging is used from under shoes that have already worn out and got rid of, household appliances and so on. By and large, any packaging can be used. But to make everything look neat and orderly, the box should be decorated.
The easiest and most budgetary way to decorate is just to paste over the box with paper. And there are a lot of options and ways.
What kind of paper is good for the box?
To transform a cardboard box, you can take absolutely any paper. For this purpose, everything is suitable:
- colored paper;
- gift;
- paper for decoupage and crafting;
- self-adhesive paper;
- wallpaper (vinyl, paper, non-woven, textile, and so on);
- napkins and much more.
What tools and materials are still needed?
In addition to paper and the cardboard box itself, the following tools and materials are needed:
- scissors and / or;
- ruler;
- pencil.
Depending on the type of paper you will be refining the boxes, you will need to stock up on:
- double tape;
- pVA glue;
- glue gun;
- (sometimes depends on their type);
- with a glue brush.
The easiest way

- Unfold the roll of paper and place your box on it.
- Measure how much material you need so that it completely covers the bottom of the box, its walls and slightly curls inward (Figure 1). You can also do this with a ruler. To do this, measure the height and width of the box and measure the length on the sheet equal to these parameters plus one more width and plus six to ten centimeters per fold.
- Cut out the desired piece of paper (Figure 2).
- Place the box in the center of the cut-out piece of paper and cut out the excess pieces in the corners (Figure 3).
- Cut four small pieces of paper and glue them to the corners of the box (Figure 4).
- Now glue the walls and glue the paper (Figure 5).
- Coat the inside of the box and wrap the paper (Figure 6).
- Cover the cover in the same way.
- Let the box dry.
All is ready! Now you can use the box at your own discretion.
Tip: Don't use too much glue, or the paper may warp and ruin the entire look.
The second way to decorate with paper
Here is another instruction on how to glue the box with paper:
- Place the bottom of the box on the paper of your choice and circle it (Figure 1).
- Cut out the bottom piece so that there is a two to three centimeters margin on each side (Figure 2).
- Glue the piece to the bottom of the box and fold over the peeking edges (illustrations 3 and 4).
- Place one side against the paper and outline it. Cut out the part with a few centimeters of margin on all sides. Glue the paper to one side (illustrations 5 and 6).
- Fold the edges of the paper neatly (bottom, sides, and inward). Make small cuts if necessary (Figure 7).
- Cover all sides of the box in the same way (Figures 8 and 9).
- Inside, you can paint the boxes with a paint that matches the color. Better to use acrylic (Figure 10).
- Let the glue and paint dry completely.
The decorated box is ready!
Decoupage technique for decoration of cardboard packaging
Some people are in a hurry to throw away not only the shoes, boots and other shoes that they were wearing down, but also the box from under them. But if you glue the shoebox with paper, it will transform and become an irreplaceable thing. It can be used as a box or a place to store various little things that tend to get lost.
The master class will show you how to glue a box with paper in:
- Take a clean shoebox and peel off any tape or other stickers.
- Take two shades of paint (preferably acrylic) and cover the sides and lid of your box with it. Paint the sides with black and the top with white.
- Make a frame on the lid of the same color as the sides of the box. To do this, step back from the edge of the top by a few centimeters and glue a square from Cover the indents with black. Then remove the tape. As a result, you have a frame for a white square in the middle with smooth edges.
- Find the right picture. It can be depicted on a napkin, plain paper, wallpaper, and so on.
- Cut out the picture and dip it into the water.
- Then take the picture out of the water, put it on a piece of oilcloth (A4 file is perfect for this purpose) face down, and blot it on top several times with a cotton or paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Cover the picture with PVA glue or decoupage.
- Also glue the lid where the picture will be glued.
- Transfer the oilcloth with the image to the lid. To do this, simply turn the picture over and spread it with your fingers.
- Remove the oilcloth carefully.
- When the picture is dry, the entire lid should be covered with acrylic varnish.
- So that the borders of the picture do not stand out too much and do not catch the eye, apply white paint to the edges of the image and gently blend it with a large brush or sponge (you can take a piece of foam rubber).
- To make the picture look harmonious, you can additionally paint with acrylic paint some strokes (for example, shadows and highlights, background).
- When you're done with the background and image, paint the entire box lid with varnish.
- Color the walls if desired.
When everything is dry, the box can be used.
Sheets with mulberry fibers: how to glue the box with paper?
Master class on pasting a box with mulberry leaves:
- Mulberry paper has a number of features that should be taken into account when working with it. The most important thing is that the material is very thin. Therefore, if you are decorating not a monochromatic surface, but with different images, then all of it must be covered with paint.
- When the paint dries, cover the surface with PVA or decoupage glue.
- Tear the mulberry paper into pieces of different sizes and cover the box with them.
- If you want, decorate the surface using the decoupage technique with napkins or other pictures. This should be done after the mulberry paper layer is completely dry.
- Finally, cover the box with a layer of varnish.

Can I decorate a box with a different shape?
How to glue a round box with paper:
- Place a box on a piece of paper and outline its bottom.
- Cut out two of these circles.
- Then cut a rectangular strip. Its height should be equal to the height of the sides of the box plus four extra centimeters.
- Cover the rectangular piece of paper and the sides of the box with glue.
- Step by step glue the rectangle to the side so that it goes beyond the edges from the top and bottom.
- Make cuts around the edges of the paper that come out, and wrap them over the box.
- Glue the cut out circles to the bottom and lid of the round box.
- How to glue the box with colored paper if there is no other? You can decorate cardboard packaging with such sheets in two ways: as usual or using decoupage technique.
- To cover the box with wallpaper, use a special wallpaper so you can be sure that the paper will not move away from the walls over time.
- How to glue the box with gift paper or corrugated paper? Such sheets are very thin, and tearing them, as is the case with mulberry, is not recommended. This decor does not look very nice and neat. In this case, it is better to take a thin one and stick it around the entire perimeter of the box. Then the protective layer is removed from it, on which the paper is applied. So the whole box is gradually pasted over.
- How to properly glue the box with paper so that it does not delaminate? To do this, you need to choose the right glue and carefully glue the sheets to the surface. Then the craft must be dried well.

For this we need: the actual wrapping paper, cords or tape for decoration, tape measure, scissors and scotch tape, double-sided is welcomed, because it can be hidden quite neatly.
Progress:
Cut out a rectangle from the selected paper. Its dimensions are calculated as follows: using a tape measure, we successively measure all four sides of the box and add three centimeters to the fold, so we get the width, the length is determined by the formula - 2 the height of the box itself + 1 length.
Advice! If you have never wrapped a gift with your own hands before, you should immediately practice on some unnecessary paper. For example, on a newspaper or a piece of unnecessary wallpaper.
Before packing the gift box into paper, we revise the box and the gift itself for price tags, and, if necessary, remove them. Next, on a flat surface, lay out a rectangle of paper of the required size and a box with a gift. 
Place the box in the center of our rectangle. On any of the vertical edges, we fold inward by 0.5-1 cm. Glue adhesive tape to the fold. Wrap the box tightly in paper, pulling slightly if necessary to remove wrinkles. We align the paper along the edge, remove the film from the glued tape and glue the edge with a fold.
The bottom of the rectangle is bent and pressed tightly against the side edges of the box. After that, we bend it, bend it in the middle, glue the tape and fasten it to the end. We carry out this operation from both sides.

- Wrap the remaining 2 segments inward, as in Figure 10 (for reliability, you can fasten the corners with glue).
- Make the second box in the same way. It will be the lid for the first box. Its dimensions should be respectively 2-3 millimeters larger.
- Tie with ribbon and decorate with decorative elements.
Packaging "Envelope"
Tools and materials:
- wrapping paper;
- scissors;
- double-sided thin tape;
- ribbons for decoration.
Master Class:
- Depending on the size of the gift, measure the required amount of packaging, following photo 1.
- Wrap one free edge on the box, fold the other free edge with a corner (photo 2).
- Using scotch tape, attach the previously obtained corner (photo 3).
- Wrap the parts of the box open on the sides, starting from the upper edge of the paper, then wrap the side ones (photo 4 and 5).
- Turn the bottom of the paper, as in photo 6. So that the side corners look even, and secure with tape.
- Repeat the previous point with the second open side (photo 7).
- Make bows from pieces of tape (photo 8).
- Tie the box with a ribbon, tying it to one knot (photo 9), put bows on top and tie the ribbon neatly again by 2 knots (photo 10).
- Cut off excess tape (photo 11).
Eskimo packaging
Tools and materials:
- brown wrapping paper or colored paper;
- small box;
- foil;
- tourniquet or thin tape;
- scissors;
- double sided tape;
- thin scotch tape.
Master Class:
- Wrap the box in paper, leaving more paper on one end of the box, and tape the free edge to.
- Wrap the top of the "popsicle" in this way: first bend one side to the box, then wrap the two side ones inward, fold the lower part, wrap it to the previously laid parts and secure with double-sided tape.
- Trim excess paper.
- Fold up the two parallel sides of the paper.
- Make a "stick" out of foil and insert into the open part of the box.
- Crumple the other two sides and tie to the "stick" with a tourniquet or tape.
- Wrap the bottom of the "popsicle" with foil.

Packaging with colorful cover
Tools and materials:
- craft paper;
- a set of colored paper;
- scissors;

- stationery knife;
- dry glue.

- From colored paper, cut strips 2 centimeters wide (calculate the length of the strips according to the diagram) and bend them in the middle.
- Following the schematic drawing, lay out the cut strips and fasten them to each other at the edges with glue (photos 2,3,4,5 and 6).
- Turn over the resulting colored "funnel" (photo 7).
- Draw a heart (or other shape) on craft paper. Cut out the figure with a knife (photo 8 and 9).
- From the inside, glue the "funnel" to the wrapping paper (photo 10).
- Wrap and attach the finished cover to the gift.
Pigtail paper wrapping
Tools and materials:
- wrapping paper or cloth;
- double-sided thin tape;
- scissors;
- decor elements.
Master Class:
Kraft paper packaging
Tools and materials:
- craft paper;
- box;
- twine;
- double-sided thin tape;
- decor (buttons, sweets, flowers).
Master Class:
- Put a box in the center of the paper.
- Wrap one corner first (photo 1).
- Press the edge of the second free corner of the paper to the box, as shown in photo 2, then wrap the entire corner onto the box (photo 3).
- Fold back the piece of paper that overlaps the previously wrapped corner as in photo 4, and then wrap it inward.
- Wrap the opposite corner in the same way (photo 5).
- Wrap the last corner in the same way (photo 6), and wrap the overlapping edges as in photo 7.
- Glue the corner with adhesive tape (photo 8) and "close" the box with packaging.
- Tie the gift with twine, tie a knot and decorate as desired.
