In children who are sleep deprived for 2–2.5 hours, the level of efficiency in the classroom is reduced by 30% compared to children who “pour out” their norm.

For proper rest of the central nervous system and the whole organism, it is important to provide not only the necessary duration, but also a sufficient depth of sleep. To do this, you need the following:

Teach your child to go to bed and get up at the same time. When a child goes to bed at a certain hour, his nervous system and the whole body prepare in advance for sleep;

Limit emotional stress after 19 hours (noisy games, watching movies, etc.), the time before bedtime should be spent in activities that calm the nervous system. It can be quiet games, reading;

According to statistics, an adult needs at least 8 hours of sleep per day. A first grader needs a little more, but not 12 hours as a baby. The most important thing is to put your child to bed early, do not fight for performance, it is better to look at his condition. Is it easy for him to wake up in the morning? Do you have enough strength until the evening?

It is best to put the child to bed between 9 and 10 o'clock in the evening, preferably no later than 10 o'clock. At the same time, the child should have free time 1.5-2 hours before bedtime for daily rituals: water procedures, reading at night, a glass of milk - and as little stress as possible, then the child will smoothly fall asleep and be able to fully rest.

With regard to naps, it seems to me that there is no reason to insist that the child should sleep during the day. If he wants to go to bed after dinner - great, if not - do not insist. The main thing is that daytime sleep should divide the day into two equal intervals. You do not need to go to bed later than 4 pm: then the night's sleep may suffer.

Exercise: achieve a state of reasonable fatigue

Nowadays there is a lot of talk about the fact that first-graders can barely withstand the exorbitant burden that the school and parents with their circles and sections arrange for them. I like the idea that the level of exercise should be determined by the tolerance. It often happens that a child comes from school in the afternoon sluggish and tired, and in the evening he seems to have a second wind. He is cheerful and cheerful, ready to do anything, just not to go to bed. Do not think that he is not tired and does not want to sleep - in fact, this is just overexcitement.

To relieve tension that has accumulated over the day, it is helpful to take a walk before bed. If we assume that we need to go to bed at 21.00, then the best time for a walk would be 19.30, right after dinner. At home we take a warm shower, drink a glass of milk with a spoonful of honey (if there is no allergy) - and go to bed. Going to sleep should be very calm, without talking about the problems and difficulties of the past day, especially without reminders of failures and annoying mistakes.

One of the most important components of your daily routine is your diet. Meals for a younger student should be five times a day: breakfast at home, lunch at school, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner. A hot breakfast at home is a must. Ideally, this is hot porridge, but you can also offer dry cereal drenched in warm milk. Of course, there are many options - it can be an omelet, and cottage cheese, and cheesecakes or pancakes. In no case should you have breakfast in a hurry, accompanied by constant shouts "Faster!", "You will be late!" It is better to wake up the child half an hour earlier than to urge him on. There is nothing worse for a child's physical and mental health than the stress caused by time constraints.

If the child is not on an after-school day, he usually dines at home. At first, it is best to offer him a light soup (strong meat broths are not useful for children). When preparing the second, it should be remembered that not only for kids, but also for younger students, spicy, fried, spices, mayonnaise, ketchup are not recommended. Fruits and vegetables are a must on the daily menu. For lunch, it is good to give a vegetable salad. Afternoon snack - this is the time to eat buns, pancakes, pancakes. Good for afternoon tea and fresh fruit. Dinner should be hearty but light. If you expect your child to go to bed at 21.00, then you should have dinner no later than 19.00, 2 hours before bedtime. Physiologists do not recommend combining the beginning of school education and the beginning of education in a music school, an art studio, additional classes in a foreign language. If there is a desire to develop the child comprehensively, it is better to start a year before school or from the second grade. In the first class, additional loads should be minimal.

It also happens: before school, the child is engaged in both music and sports, but in the first grade you have to sacrifice something, because there is not enough time for everything. You can postpone some of the activities for a year, but be sure to listen to the child's choice: those additional activities that remain, must surely please him and emotionally nourish him. From the point of view of physiologists, if you have to choose between English and swimming, then the answer is clear: swimming. And, for example, with dancing, not everything is so simple: dancing is such a finely coordinated and complex action that for most children it turns out to be hard work. But even here it is worth relying on the choice of the child.

Unfortunately, parents often tend to schedule their child's time in minutes. And it turns out that children do not have the opportunity to be alone with themselves, and they really miss this. A student comes from school - "Sit down to dinner." Had lunch - "Sit down for your lessons." It is necessary to let him be alone, to leave him alone in the room. Maybe he will take his favorite toy - this helps many children to relieve stress and relax. At this age, the child still has a great need for play. If many teachers do not allow to bring toys to school, then at home you can allow the child to do homework with her and put him to bed with him.
