As soon as sunny hot days come, many begin to think about how to tan quickly and beautifully. And this is not surprising, because today an even bronze tan is at the peak of popularity.

However, deciding to get a chocolate skin tone, many are faced with questions: what to smear with to quickly tan in the sun? What to do to get your legs tanned quickly? Is there a folk remedy with which you can smear the body to quickly tan? A number of tips and rules below will help you resolve these dilemmas.

The main rules of tanning

In order to tan in the sun as quickly as possible, you should adhere to the basic rules. They will not only talk about how to spread to get a tan faster, but also how to do it as safely as possible for the health of the body.

You should take care of a beautiful golden skin tone even before starting your vacation. For this you need:

  1. Start drinking a multivitamin complex aimed at improving the skin. During sunbathing, the skin is actively losing moisture, which can lead to dryness and flabbiness. Taking medications containing vitamins E; A and C will keep your skin looking healthy. This is extremely important, because in the pursuit of advice on how to quickly tan in the sun, many people stop thinking about their health. As a result, the skin has a chocolate tint, but a tired and flabby look.
  1. Human skin is constantly regenerating, therefore, before sunbathing, it is recommended to carry out a procedure for cleansing from dead cells. To do this, you need to use special body scrubs, preferably of natural plant origin. With their help, all dead epithelium is removed, and the skin surface becomes smooth and soft.

The tan lays on cleansed skin smoother and lasts much longer. Therefore, if you care not only about how to tan quickly, but also how to maintain a bronze tint, then peeling with a scrub before the vacation is a necessary and important procedure.

While sunbathing, it is worth remembering these simple, but very important aspects:

  1. If you need to sunbathe as quickly as possible, then you should have a rest on the sea or near any bodies of water. This is due to the fact that the water surface is able to reflect ultraviolet rays and thereby enhance their effect. How to get tanned fast at sea? First, you need to spend time actively, which will help to make your tan even and reduce the likelihood of burns. Secondly, you need to take sunbathing before 11 pm and after 4 pm. This is the safest time for health. Those who like to lie on the beach are advised to constantly change their position, turning to the sun's rays in different directions.
  1. In order to sunbathe as quickly as possible at sea, you must definitely use special sunscreens. Indeed, under the influence of sunlight, water and wind, the skin can burn very quickly, and after the damaged skin peels off, there will be no trace of the sunburn, or it will be spots.

Cosmetics

The eternal dilemma of the fair sex about how to smear the body in order to tan faster is now easily solved. For this, special creams and lotions are produced with the addition of active substances to enhance tanning. They have a stimulating effect and increase the synthesis of melanin in the skin. However, in addition to solving the question of "how to tan quickly", these creams have a moisturizing and nourishing effect, which helps to maintain a beautiful skin tone.

Another means that you can spread to get a tan faster are creams with a "tingle" effect. They are aimed at enhancing blood circulation in the skin, due to which melanin begins to be actively produced. However, these creams have their own characteristics, for example, after application, skin redness is possible and allergic reactions to these funds are also not uncommon. Tingle cream is not recommended for girls with too light skin tone, they are not allowed to be applied to the face.

In order to tan in the sun as quickly as possible, you can use creams that have an effect of enhancing ultraviolet rays. With their help, you can really achieve a more intense and even tan. But when applying, you must make sure that the layer of the cream is thin, otherwise you can get a serious burn. When buying these products, carefully read the label, because there are separate series for the solarium, and they are not suitable for the beach.

Wanting to tan in the sun as quickly as possible, do not forget about safety! It is important to use SPF (UV Protection Factor) creams while in the sun. They will help maintain the necessary moisture balance and prevent skin aging.

When deciding what to smear in order to quickly tan in the sun, you should pay attention to cosmetic oils. They not only moisturize the skin, but also stimulate the production of melanin, helping to achieve the desired bronze skin tone faster. When buying, you should make sure that the oil contains only natural ingredients, such as coconut, wheat, palm oils, avocado and cocoa oils, a complex of vitamins and SPF factors. In the presence of synthetic and chemical additives, oil should be abandoned, since under the influence of ultraviolet radiation it can provoke the appearance of allergies.

But all my girlfriends are so beautiful, with a dark complexion, and I am like a pale moth. But every cloud has a silver lining! I made coffee oil at home, began to treat my hands, face, décolleté and even legs with it! Now I look just like my friends who have been to the seaside, with a beautiful tanned skin color. "

This is where we will come in handy with our advice on how to quickly tan in the sun without putting yourself at serious risk of getting sick or getting covered with not very attractive extraordinary spots. That is, to get a beautiful, even tan and at the same time not age two years in one day.

You should not try them all in a row, otherwise, instead of a beautiful sea tan on the whole body, you can get burns, irritation and a temporary aversion to any aromas. But it is very necessary to combine methods to improve the result:

  1. Use artificial melanin activators. We buy a cream-like product ready-made in a pharmacy, a beauty store or a specialized online store. Such a cream necessarily has a sun protection factor and clear instructions.
  2. There are products of natural origin with similar effects. As a part of a cream or emulsion, oils, extracts containing UV filters and nourishing the skin. They can also be bought or even made by yourself. Usually commercially available creams have a minimum radiation protection factor. Therefore, we recommend that you make some effort and make an oil mixture for the body worthy of you yourself, we have recipes.
  3. To accelerate tanning, a special citrus therapy has been developed.
  4. Apply a daily complex of aquaprocedures with sea salt scrubbing, nourishing the skin on the hands, feet, back.

  1. You can try aromatherapy, focusing on oils that promote relaxation and absorption of solar energy.
  2. Try combining external use of creams with a special diet. Carrots, melon, broccoli, peaches, spinach, olive oil, asparagus, and tomatoes can protect the skin on the arms, legs, neck, abdomen and teach it to produce melanin faster. That is, antioxidants.
  3. Attention, the question: how to quickly sunbathe at home, without going outside and, even more so, without going to the sea? This will help the folk recipe - walnut leaves. You can brew them, insist a little and pour the strained broth into a bath of medium temperature water. Immerse yourself for 10 minutes. Important: you need to dive completely, excluding the face. The composition should be transparent, resemble a weak tea in color, and not a vat of resin. Otherwise, you will appear before innocent people in a completely new guise.

If you want to get a great tan on your body in 1-2 days, you can relax and dismiss this idea as meaningless. It takes about a week for a beautiful tan after being in the open sun. This is if you want an eye-catching golden or bronze hue rather than redness and irritation. Too high an intensity will lead to very sad results.

You can buy a tan in 1-3 hours, but for this you need to contact beauty salons and resort to special procedures.

Whichever method you choose, you must adhere to the rules of safe tanning and not lose your head in your desire to be beautiful.

Home remedies recipes

An alternative to the not always safe commercial products for a golden and even, beautiful tan are homemade creams and oil formulations prepared by yourself. It just sounds a little strange, in fact, everything has a logical explanation.

The compositions we have selected are balanced. Thanks to them, a film is formed on the surface of the back, legs, abdomen, arms, which absorbs safe radiation and displays harmful radiation. It also promotes the formation of melanin and additionally takes care of the legs, arms, décolleté. We offer the top of the best exclusive recipes:

  1. Oil-based tanning product. Take 50 ml of walnut oil, 20 ml of jojoba oil and the same amount of wheat oil. Another 5 milliliters of ylang-ylang oil, 20 milliliters of avocado, shea butter - 1 teaspoon with top (this is a butter, so we pre-melt it in a water bath). We mix and use all oils. This quick tan oil should be smeared 3 hours before sun exposure. The effect lasts for a day, if at this time you often bathe or take a shower, reapply a small amount. Store the oil in a glass jar over the summer.
  2. The best after-sun remedy. We mix sea buckthorn oil and extracts of apricot seeds (3 drops of the first and 50 milliliters of the second). We hide in the house, take a shower and apply this caring and regenerating balm.

These are oil formulations, they are best used on a wet body in order to avoid dehydration of the skin of the legs and hands. This is enough for the whole summer.

But there are other home formulations:

  1. For a quick tan before sunbathing, scrub with a coloring exfoliant - fine or medium ground coffee. Brew the coffee with a little hot milk (so that the milk only covers the powder) and let it brew for 10 minutes. We scrub a maximum of 2 times a week.
  2. Take 50 grams of coffee and fill it with 100 milliliters of nut butter (whatever). Leave it in a dark place for 10 days and use the filtered liquid as a base for masks or body cream, or as an independent folk remedy for foot, back, stomach and hand care (instead of milk). The mixture nourishes and moisturizes, gives a golden hue, promotes a beautiful uniform tan, evens out color features (it is especially convenient to use on the legs after winter, when the skin of the legs is light, sometimes with a bluish undertone).
  3. Mix a simple body moisturizer in half with the previous formula and use daily.

The main thing to remember is that the oils that protect against UV radiation are primarily wheat germ oils, shea butter and jojoba. And to those that will enhance the production of melanin - avocado, apricot pits and walnuts (it even gives a bronze tint). It is even better to use a separate group of fats for care after sunbathing (that is, to relieve stress, exhaustion and dryness) - sea buckthorn oil, almond and ylang-ylang. Sea buckthorn oil must be used very carefully, as it tends to be highly orange in color. Add 1 drop to 3 large scoops of base caring oil.

Many cosmetologists advise using just such oil formulations. Some of them are cooked and sold, but we prefer to save money and cook them ourselves. But in any case, do not use oil at your own discretion. You can cause irritation and burns, dehydration and pigmentation if you use the wrong oil. Tanning requires caution and deliberation.

Whatever you use for tanning, it is important to remember about safety:

  1. On the first hot days, start sunbathing without fanaticism: 15-25 minutes each. This will not only help protect yourself from sunburn, but also contribute to a smoother and deeper tan. You need to be especially careful near the sea.
  2. Don't stay outside in hot weather all day. And you certainly shouldn't lie on the beach all day.
  3. If you decide to use a commercial tanning product, select it according to your color type and skin type. It is better to choose even a product with a slightly higher SPF index than indicated in the manufacturer's table.
  4. Be sure to protect your face with a separate special cream or lotion. Why do you need extra wrinkles?
  5. Use tanning creams not only on the beach near the sea, in the country house or on the lake, but even while in the shade, and most importantly - do not forget to update them, as indicated in the instructions. This is usually every 2 hours and every time after bathing. If you are not sunbathing near a pond, apply after a maximum of 2 hours.

  1. Every day between 11 am and 4 pm the sun is most active. This means that the skin of the back, décolleté and even legs will be irritated and not sunburn at all. During this period, redness may appear, and after a few days you will begin to shed. So do not lie in the open sun for a long time during this period. If you do decide, use an even more powerful cream (take for very pale dermis, SPF 35 and above).
  2. Be sure to cover your head with a hat. First, a wide-brimmed spectacular hat you know how gorgeous it looks, and it suits everyone. Secondly, this will protect your face and neck. And to make them, then in tone will not be difficult, you understand.
  3. Never fall asleep on the beach. This is fraught not only with the fact that the skin will burn, but also with the fact that you will not get to any planned event at all.
  4. Make sure that the medications used do not increase photosensitivity (this is indicated in the instructions).
  5. Before applying cream or oil, remove the remains of decorative or caring cosmetics. Just take a shower.
  6. Drink plenty of fluids.
  7. Be careful with a common method of tanning your feet, such as spraying your feet with water. In this case, you will receive an increased dose of radiation several times.
  8. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients before using or formulating your tanning oil.

The main thing is not to harm. Get not only an even, sexy tan, but also a charge of vivacity, good mood and positive energy, guided by our advice.

How to quickly tan in the sun?

An even beautiful tan is a dream of many women, because it makes skin imperfections less noticeable, and the figure looks slimmer, making you feel more attractive and desirable. During the summer holidays, getting a tan becomes more affordable, especially if you have the opportunity to relax outside the city near a reservoir.

Unfortunately, not everyone and does not always have enough time to get a seductive bronze tan without harm to the skin. However, there is a quick way to tan in the sun, and for this it is not necessary to use expensive activator creams, but just follow a number of simple recommendations and use available means. How you can tan very quickly and beautifully in the sun without creams, using folk remedies, we will consider further.

How to properly and quickly tan in the sun?

As you know, the skin acquires a golden tan due to the activation of the production of the pigment melanin under the influence of sunlight. It takes some time to produce melanin, so it is impossible to get a tan in one day, and if this pigment is not produced enough, the risk of sunburn increases. You can stimulate the production of melanin by eating foods that contain certain amino acids, enzymes and vitamins involved in the processes of its synthesis. These products include:

  • carrot;
  • apricots;
  • peaches;
  • tomatoes;
  • bananas;
  • watermelon;
  • liver;
  • nuts;
  • lean fish and seafood;
  • green tea, etc.

Thus, in order to help the skin to tan faster, you should adjust your diet in advance by introducing the above foods in larger quantities. At the same time, you need to give up products that, on the contrary, reduce the level of melanin:

  • chocolate;
  • strong coffee;
  • citrus;
  • smoked meats;
  • salting;
  • alcoholic drinks.

Preparation of the skin is essential for a beautiful and fast tan. Namely, it should be thoroughly cleaned of dirt and keratinized cells that interfere with the penetration of ultraviolet rays. To do this, 2-3 days before sunbathing, it is recommended to peel, for which you can use recipes for homemade scrubs based on ground coffee, sugar, salt, apricot kernels, etc. After applying the scrub, the skin must be moisturized with creams.

In order not to reduce all intentions to get a beautiful tan to zero, it is worth especially controlling the duration of stay in the open sun on the first day of rest. To begin with, it is enough to sunbathe for only 10-20 minutes, and in the following days gradually increase the time spent on the beach. It should be noted that the best way to tan "lays down" if you are in motion, so beach volleyball will have to be very handy for those who want to tan quickly and evenly. It is also important to follow these rules:

  1. Refuse to use cosmetics on the beach.
  2. Do not be in direct sunlight from 11 am to 4 pm.
  3. Drink plenty of liquids on the beach (preferably pure non-carbonated water).

And finally, here are a few folk remedies that will help you get a gorgeous tan faster:

  1. Strong chilled coffee - they should rub their skin twice a day with a large cotton swab.
  2. Olive oil with iodine (add 5 drops of iodine to 100 ml of oil) - lubricate the skin with this mixture before going to the beach.
  3. Carrot juice combined with a small amount of olive oil - this product should be evenly applied to the skin before going to bed to intensify the tan.

How to tan beautifully and correctly at sea? We will tell you how to choose a sunscreen, how much time to spend in the sun, how to prepare your skin for tanning and what to do in case of a burn - you can get sunburned even on a cloudy day!

We are always looking forward to summer, and one of the reasons is sunbathing, the opportunity to bask in the sun and get a beautiful tan. Now, many can afford to rest in hot countries at any time of the year, which means that the risks associated with prolonged exposure to the sun also increase.

It is scientifically proven that sun exposure is more harmful than good, so don't ignore the rules of safe tanning. We will talk about this in the article.

What is a tan

Sunburn is the darkening of skin color due to prolonged exposure to the sun. Under the influence of sunlight, the pigment melanin is produced - it gives it a dark shade. If in the first exposure to the sun it develops too much, then in the following days you will no longer darken to the shade you need.

Ultra-violet rays

UVA rays the longest and can penetrate glass and clouds. They do not leave burns, but they are still dangerous. They cause allergic reactions, provoke skin diseases and decreased immunity. It is these rays that are used in tanning lamps.

UVB rays shorter and more active in summer. It is from them that the skin turns red, and you get burns. The consequences of such radiation are mass: premature aging, and destruction of skin cells, and deterioration of the state of blood vessels, and the risk of developing melanoma - a malignant tumor. Pigmented spots can generally appear after a couple of years. They do not penetrate clouds, clouds and glass.

Short uVC rays do not reach the Earth - they are absorbed by the atmosphere.

The benefits of sunburn

Ultraviolet light raises levels of the hormone serotonin, which boosts your energy and lifts your mood. Not only because you are on vacation by the sea - the improvement in the state of the body really happens from the inside. The sun promotes the production of vitamin D in the body, and it is responsible for strong healthy teeth and nails, and improves immunity. Sunburn also has an aesthetic component - many people think that pale skin looks painful and less attractive.

Solarium in front of the sea

Before a vacation, many are concerned about the question of whether it is necessary to go to a solarium to prepare for a trip to the sea.

A small dose of ultraviolet light will be useful before vacation. So you will avoid burns and immediately a large dose of ultraviolet radiation. This is especially true for residents of those latitudes where there is little of it, and there are much more than three winter gray months. Sunbathe evenly from all sides in the solarium - and the sun will lie evenly on the sea. Do not overdo it! Artificial irradiation is strong and a lot of melanin is produced. After such a "sun" beach tanning just won't stick to you. If you bought a last minute ticket and you have a couple of days before the vacation, 1-2 trips to the salon will definitely benefit you.

Danger. Solarium is unsafe due to UVA rays. Even when using sunscreen, the effect of the rays is not reduced - creams simply do not protect against this type of radiation. Oncologists are not against artificial ultraviolet radiation in moderation! Residents of northern areas need it "for mood" and pumping up with vitamin D.

How much and when to sunbathe

The main rule is to tan gradually! In different countries, depending on the proximity to the equator and the time of year, tanning will be of different colors and it will also be different for you.

Here is a diagram of how to properly sunbathe at sea. On the first day, spend no more than half an hour in the sun - 10-15 minutes before lunch and the same after. Increase the time by 10-15 minutes every day. But even at the end of the vacation, there is no point in sunbathing for more than 2-3 hours. The production of melanin by the skin no longer occurs - you will not tan more.

When is the best time to sunbathe? It is ideal to be in the sun before 11 and after 16 hours. During the day, the sun is very active and will do more harm than good.

Where better to sunbathe

Doctors agree that it is ideal to sunbathe in the shade. In the first week of your vacation, being in direct sunlight is undesirable. Through the clouds, the tan will soften and last longer.

The water reflects the sun's rays, so you burn faster on the shore. The same goes for snow! It reflects the sun just as well, so the possibility of getting sunburned in winter is not a myth at all.

After sun care

From prolonged exposure to sunlight, the skin becomes overdried and the dead layer of the epidermis begins to slough off. There is no particular harm, but it is unpleasant. The most important care is moisturizing, as well as avoiding scrubs and hard washcloths in the early days.

How to get a beautiful and even tan

Sunscreen and other products

How beautiful is it to sunbathe at the sea? It is important to choose the right sunscreen to avoid burns. The most popular types of products: cream, milk, spray, stick. Let's consider each of them.

  • Cream is the most popular form. Creams have a dense texture, which is good for dry skin, but not for oily skin. It is applied poorly, absorbed for a long time, leaving those very white streaks, but can be used as a makeup base.
  • Fluid - light cream. Ideal for oily skin because it absorbs faster and has a lighter texture.
  • Milk is the most common type of body protectant. Sometimes there are 2 in 1 - suitable for the body and face.
  • Cosmetic oil rarely has a degree of protection higher than SPF 15–20, since its main task is to give the skin the maximum chocolate shade without damaging it. To make the effect even more noticeable, glitter, bronzer and other visual tanning enhancers are added to the oil.
  • Spray it is convenient to apply on the back and shoulder blades, but it is very difficult to evenly distribute it. You can get burned in places where it is not enough. Plus face sprays - they can be applied over makeup.
  • Stick - a small but handy thing. It looks like a tube of chapstick. Suitable for small areas of skin - lips, ears, nose. Ears and lips burn in the sun no less than the neck or back, and the skin slides off just as painfully.

The products do not affect the speed of tanning, they only increase the safe time spent in the sun.

What does SPF stand for

Abbreviation SPF (Sun Protection Factor) translated as "sun protection factor", and the figure indicates the degree of protection - the higher, the more it is. Almost any sunscreen only protects against UVB radiation.

You also need a different cream: in the first week, use a cream with SPF 50, then with SPF 30, and after two weeks you can use SPF 15.

  • SPF 50 - the skin will receive only 1/50 of the total amount of sun rays - this is 2%. Protects from 98% of ultraviolet radiation.
  • SPF 30 - protects against 97% of the rays, that is, it will let through 1/30 of the radiation.
  • SPF 25 - gives a protection level of 96%.
  • SPF 15 - from 93%.

There are creams with an SPF indicator of 70, 80 and even 100. You should not believe such figures, because 98% of the rays are the maximum from which the cream can protect.

In addition to the abbreviation SPF, you can find the following designations:

  • UVA - the product blocks the rays of type A (the most dangerous). In Asian countries, it is indicated by the PA ++ index (there can be up to four pluses).
  • PPD (Persistent Pigment Darkening) - the degree of protection against UVA rays. The maximum degree is 42, but 8 will be enough.
  • Broad spectrum - the cream protects against rays of types A and B.

The components that should be contained in the cream are at least vitamins C and E. Green tea extract and resveratrol will also be a good addition to the composition.

Previously, sunscreens were produced only for adults, maximum - for children from three years old. Now you can find creams for babies from six months to three years.

Cream is needed not only in summer

For residents of countries with high sun activity, protection is needed all year round. In Russia, in the fall and at the beginning of winter, there is no point in it - there is almost no sun. And in winter, on clear frosty days, you really need to use the cream! In the spring, the sun is already becoming more active, and the cream will be very useful to you. It is not for nothing that they say that they burn most of all in late spring - the skin is not yet used to the sun, and the radiation activity, on the contrary, is very high.

Choosing a cream by skin type

Choosing the right sunscreen is important. If you know your skin type, then it's simple: look for a cream for dry, oily or sensitive skin. If not, see the composition of the cream:

  • dry skin needs maximum moisture, it will be given by aloe, glycerin, hyaluronic acid;
  • oily skin needs a cream with minerals and the inscription "non-comedogenic".

Phototype

There are only six of them. The first two are the most vulnerable. They need products with SPF 50 protection, the rest will need SPF 20-30. How to determine the phototype?

  • I, Celtic: fair skin, blonde or red hair, fair eyes, freckles. It is better for such people not to sunbathe at all, because they instantly burn out.
  • II, fair-skinned European: blonde hair and eyes, fair skin, sometimes freckles. You can tan, but with difficulty.
  • III, Central European: dark blond, brown hair, gray or light brown eyes, these people are quite dark, but it is still easy to get sunburned in the sun. Tanning on this type of skin lays down normally.
  • IV, Mediterranean: dark hair, brown eyes, olive skin. They tan well and quickly.
  • V, Asian: very dark hair and eyes, brown or yellowish skin. They get burned very rarely.
  • VI, African: black hair and eyes, dark skin. Such people do not burn at all (but this does not mean that they do not need sun protection).

How to use funds

  • Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before sun exposure. So it manages to absorb and protect the deep layers of the skin. It is ideal to apply the cream in two layers. The second - after the first is completely dry.
  • You need to renew the cream every two hours or follow the instructions for it. For example, many creams need to be renewed after every bath.
  • Contrary to popular belief, there is no strong difference between protection factors 15 and 50.
  • How much cream should I apply? In simple terms: about a quarter of a teaspoon for the face and a tablespoon for each part of the body.
  • It's also important to wash off the cream after sun exposure, otherwise you may get an allergic reaction.

Tanning myths

  1. Glass and clouds protect from sunlight. No, glass acts like a sunscreen, not all rays are retained (it does not UVA). Therefore, getting burned while sitting by the window on the bus is quite real! The same applies to clouds: getting sunburned on a cloudy day is even easier, because we lose our guard.
  2. Vitamin D can only be obtained through tanning. No, it is found in many foods. For example, eggs, dairy products and fish.
  3. The sun heals the skin of the face. No, it can only dry out the skin a little, but you will not achieve a full-fledged treatment for, say, acne.
  4. In windy weather, the skin does not burn. In fact, windy cool weather is just as dangerous, despite the absence of sweltering heat. A chapped face burns even faster as the skin suffers from cold gusts.
  5. Makeup base can protect against burns. Can. But it will have to be applied in at least 7 layers to get the protection factor indicated on the package.

10 myths about sun and tanning

What to do with a sunburn

What to do if you get a sunburn? I share my own experience.

  • Drink plenty of water to restore balance. Drink milk and sour milk products, apply kefir and sour cream on burnt skin.
  • Take tablets for allergies: Loratadin, Suprastin, Diazolin according to the instructions. What for? Saves from edema if the face burns out.
  • Apply Panthenol, Boro +, and a protective cream before going outside;
  • Exercise a lot - for oxygen exchange and reducing swelling.

And, of course, it is important to keep sun exposure to a minimum, ideally not to be outside. I was saved by three days of travel by car, there was almost nowhere to go, and by the time I returned home the burns were almost gone.

First, apply sunscreen. Then lie down in the sun. After about 45 minutes, reapply more sunscreen. People look beautiful when they tan - tanning gives skin a warm glow, masks imperfections and helps colored items look more expressive. A beautiful tan can be tricky - worry about UV rays, avoid unsightly orange spots, and be mindful of light streaks. With your knowledge and foresight, you can overcome any obstacle and get the tan you've dreamed of. And we'll show you how to do it. Follow these simple steps and get a radiant tan in no time!

Steps

Enjoy the sun

    Choose your UV source. For ultraviolet tanning, nothing beats the good old sun. If the time of year or the weather does not allow you to sunbathe in the sun, then a tanning bed is an effective year-round alternative for maintaining a slightly bronze complexion.

    • Know when to stop - skin that looks beautiful will cease to look like human skin if you stay “in the oven” for too long.
  1. Moisturize your skin. Well-hydrated skin will tan better than dry and dusty skin. Before you properly prepare your skin for tanning, do the following:

    • While showering, exfoliate dry, dead skin cells by gently exfoliating with a washcloth, washcloth, scrub, or exfoliating product.
    • Moisturize your skin with a lotion containing pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (sodium PCA). It is a natural component of human skin that helps maintain healthy epidermis and works by drawing moisture from the air.
    • Apply an appropriate level of sunscreen to your skin. If you have fair skin, use a lotion with a higher SPF level than those with darker skin. Regardless of your skin type and how tanned you are, always use a sunscreen with an SPF level of at least 15.
    • If you are going to swim, make sure you have a waterproof sunscreen, or reapply it to your skin after being in the water. If you are not swimming, apply sunscreen as directed on the package - usually every couple of hours.
  2. Be sure to use sunscreen when sunbathing! If you're just going to lie on the beach and sunbathe for about an hour, apply a cream with an SPF of 4 to 15, depending on how light your skin type is and how tanned you are.

    • If you don't use sunscreen when you sunbathe, UV rays can harm your skin, even if you are not sunburned!
    • Use lip balm the same way you use sunscreen. Ideally, you should apply sunscreen in the shade and let it soak for 20-25 minutes before going out in the sun. If necessary, reapply the cream after bathing if it is not waterproof, or reapply it every couple of hours as directed on the package.
    • If you notice redness on your skin, hide in the shade - you are already burned, and if you continue to bake in the sun, it will only aggravate the burn and increase the likelihood of serious damage to the skin.
  3. Strip for a successful tan. If you don't want a patterned tan, wear the swimsuit you wear when you go swimming! If you wear the same swimsuit, then you will have a smooth, even tan all over your skin to the swimsuit.

    • Take off your swimsuit if you can. The only thing that can be better than the minimum of light stripes is no light stripes!
  4. Find your place in the sun. You can sunbathe in your own backyard, on the beach, or wherever the sun is shining. All you need is sun lotion, water, and a lounger or towel.

    • Place a lounger or towel in a place where the sun will fully hit your skin.
  5. Move when you sunbathe. Think of the grilled chicken. To get the same beautiful, even bronze color, you have to spin. Front, back, sides, and in places where the sun's rays do not always reach, such as armpits. Or lie on your back one day and on your stomach the next.

    • If you don't want to lie down all day, but still want a beautiful tan, long jogging or just walking is an alternative. So you will not only tan, but you will keep your body in good shape all the time. Om-Nom-nom!
  6. Protect your eyes. They can burn out too. When sunbathing, it is better to wear a hat or just close your eyes than to wear sunglasses. The bright light striking the optic nerve stimulates the hypothalamus, which in turn produces melanin, which contributes to a deeper tan.

    Get hydrated! Make sure you drink enough water. From time to time you can hop into the pool to cool off. Don't worry, it won't hurt your tan in the slightest degree. Don't forget to reapply sunscreen afterwards.

    After tanning, moisturize your skin. Use an aloe-based lotion to soothe and moisturize your skin. This will help keep it healthy and prevent peeling and sun drying.

    Apply a tan to your skin

    1. Give up the sun. If your skin is too light, or you burn easily, or want to minimize harm to your health, then sunbathing may be the worst choice. You will not know you are burned until you are burned and the damage has already been done.

      Do it yourself. There are many different brands of products that will give you a smooth, even tan.

      • As directed, apply the lotion or spray evenly, making sure to cover the entire skin. Your best bet is a non-comedogenic lotion that won't clog your pores.
      • Unless you have super-long or super-flexible arms, you will have to ask a friend to help you apply the lotion on your back.
    2. Forget your biases. Visit a tanning studio and get an even tan. In just a few minutes, they will professionally apply self-tanning all over your body.

      Read what is written on the package. Before giving your money, read reviews for both this product and the service - stay away from self-tanning products that will turn you orange.

    • If you get burned, be sure to use aloe vera lotion. It will heal burns and moisturize your skin!
    • When sunbathing, be sure to turn over so that there are no light spots on the skin when you put on your favorite dress, going to prom or on a date.
    • Aloe vera helps soothe and relieve sunburn quickly.
    • When tanning, make sure your glasses don't leave circles around your eyes.
    • Are you sunbathing naked? Be careful when exposing new areas to direct sunlight. You don't want to get burned “there”.
    • Aloe Vera can be used as an after-sun lotion and / or as a soothing and burn-relieving agent.
    • Apply more lotion to areas of redness. This will help them tan.
    • Spend a little time in the sun at first, say 10 minutes a day for sensitive skin. If there are no problems, you can increase the time spent in the sun. In case of red spots or itching, take a break and do not tan for several days.
    • Apply more lotion to shoulders, face, ears and feet, and areas that have not yet been exposed to the sun.
    • Bright skin? Do not use baby oil - you will burn.
    • Rubbing vinegar on burns will relieve the heat and make you feel better, but it will smell funny. So, don't use it before heading out to a meeting, a date, a long drive in a hot car, or just before talking to people.
    • If you are going to sunbathe for the first time, do not stay in the sun for too long.
    • It takes time, so don't expect to see results the first day.
    • If you go for a fake tan that is safer and looks like a real tan, find one that definitely won't make you orange.
    • Wear clothes that show off your tan. If you're not tanned, wear dark greens, blues, and purples. If you have a moderate tan, wear black or white to highlight your tan. If you've achieved the skin tone you wanted and you tanned well, wear any color.
    • If you get sunburn, try using olive oil and iodine, or 100% cocoa butter, and stay out of the sun for a few days. This will help you get a good tan in the end.
    • Do not go to the solarium! It damages the skin and can cause skin cancer!

    Warnings

    • Remember to drink plenty of water during and after sunbathing. If your skin is burning, use after-sun lotion to cool it down, as the shower can tingle if you burn yourself.
    • Watch for moles, changes in color or shape.
    • Sunburns can be of any form, from mild to moderate. If you get severe burns, see your doctor.
    • Prolonged sun exposure and exposure to ultraviolet radiation can lead to skin cancer, the worst form of which is called melanoma. It is safer to use a self-tanner. If you want to get a tan and aren't afraid to turn a little orange, then you can save your life.
    • As people become more aware of the health risks associated with tanning, they may begin to realize that fair skin is just as attractive as dark skin. Be yourself and people will accept you for who you are, regardless of your skin color.
    • Tanning beds, like other forms of UV exposure, can be dangerous, especially if you use them for an extended period of time.
    • Daily tanning not good for your health!
    • If you stay in the sun for too long, you can get heatstroke.
    • Do not take suntan tablets. Many cases of crystallization of precipitation of certain substances of these tablets in the eyes are known. This fallout can lead to blindness.
    • People with naturally pale skin cannot tan well! Instead, try a moisturizing self-tanner. It will look natural and not too orange or bronze.

Answers Galina Sofinskaya, doctor of the highest category of the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology:

- Even 7-10 days at sea is quite enough to get a beautiful tan. The main thing is to adhere to certain rules and take into account some of the nuances.

1. Prepare to go to the beach in advance

Before your trip, do an exfoliation to free the skin of dead skin cells. It can be done both in the salon and at home using a scrub and a hard washcloth. The scrub can be bought ready-made, or you can prepare it yourself. For this, coffee grounds or fine salt are suitable (2 tbsp. L. Sour cream mixed with 1 tbsp. L. Fine salt). Rub the body with massaging, circular motions, leave for 3-5 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

You need to carry out the procedure ahead of time - the "new" skin is prone to burns. Even home peeling is best done 2-3 days before the trip, so that the skin has time to recover.

Moles should be treated with extreme caution. Under the influence of UV rays, they can develop into a malignant tumor - melanoma. The most dangerous moles are unevenly colored and irregularly shaped. It is better to consult a dermatologist and an oncologist before the holidays, and on the beach cover them with a piece of plaster cut in the shape of a mole.

2. Be careful in the early days

No matter how much you want to get "everything at once", you need to sunbathe gradually. The shock dose of the sun's rays on the first day at sea is the strongest stress for the skin, fraught with burns, after which the rest of the vacation will have to be rehabilitated. In the early days, you need to sunbathe under an umbrella, and gradually increase the time spent in direct sunlight.

3. Go to the city beach before your trip

This will prepare your skin to face the aggressive southern sun. The tan will lie smoother.

4. Eat right

Products containing carotene (carrots, apricots, peaches, bell peppers) help to tan. They need to be included in the diet on the eve of the vacation. In the first days on vacation, lean on fish, seafood, eggs (they contain polyunsaturated fatty acids) and foods rich in vitamin E (vegetable oils, nuts): they protect the skin from sunburn.

5. Use protective equipment

They prevent the penetration of the rays of the dangerous spectrum and do not allow the sun to dry out the skin excessively. The lighter the skin, the more powerful protection it needs. Light skinned people should use SPF 30, and dark skinned and already tanned ones - 10-15.

Why do small white spots appear on the skin after sunburn? This is how a fungal infection of the skin manifests itself, which is often found in sweating people. In ordinary life, it does not manifest itself in any way, but makes itself felt only with a spotted tan. On vacation, nothing can be done about this, and on return it is better to undergo a course of treatment - in case of complication, itching may occur, and if untreated, the spots merge into large lesions.

However, remember: sunscreens have a short shelf life - once opened, the cream can be stored for no more than 6 months. Do not use the cream left over from the last vacation - upon contact with oxygen, many components of the cream oxidize and the product stops working.

The cream should be applied in a dense layer to open skin areas, including lips and ears: the skin of these areas of the body burns easily. Don't get smeared on the beach! This should be done 15-20 minutes before leaving.

6. Sunbathe at the right time

Staying in direct sunlight is the shortest path to a burn. The most useful and safest sun in the morning is from 8 to 11 and in the afternoon - after 4 pm.

7. Drink plenty of fluids on the beach, and then apply cream to your skin.

The sun dries out the skin. You can moisturize it both outside and inside. Therefore, on vacation, you should always have a bottle of water and active moisturizers with "super" or "ultra" prefixes. They should be applied to the body at least 2 times a day - in the morning and in the evening, and on the hands - up to 4-5 times a day.

8. Be careful when taking medication

Some medications increase your sensitivity to sunlight. Among them are popular antibiotics (tetracycline, doxycycline) and oral contraceptives.

9. After the beach, do not rush to shower

The sun continues to run for about 2 hours after you leave the beach.

10. Protect your tan

After returning from the resort, do not rush to use bleaching agents, scrubs and hard washcloths. Read labels carefully - many creams and masks have a whitening effect. Moreover, the enemy of tanning is not only tube cosmetics - homemade masks made from oatmeal, strawberries and cucumbers will also erase bronze from the skin.
