January holidays in the year as a rest. When college graduates gather for reunion evenings

To plan a vacation in advance, outline a leisure plan and see all your loved ones - every Russian tries to do all this during the New Year holidays. To make it easier to cope with the tasks, you can now familiarize yourself and find out how to relax in Russia for the New Year 2018, and how many New Year's weekends and holidays await us.

How to relax on New Year's holidays 2018

According to the proposal of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, to postpone the weekend in 2018, you can now find out exactly how long the New Year holidays will last. The fact is that in the coming year, the New Year's Day 2018 falls on the night from Sunday to Monday. This wonderful combination of circumstances will help to catch up with all the pre-holiday preparations, even for those who work on a six-day week.

Thus, it will be possible to prepare for the New Year 2018 from Saturday, December 30, since it is from this date that the official New Year holidays begin, which will last until January 8 inclusive (see the calendar below).

Official New Year holidays in 2018

Based on the draft resolution of the Russian Government and in particular the Federal Ministry of Labor, the schedule of days off and working dates for the upcoming New Year period will be as follows: starting from December 30 to January 8 inclusive - New Year holidays will take place, so the duration of the New Year holidays this year will be 10 days, which is 1 day more than in 2017.

Thus, in January 2018, from the 31st calendar day, there will be 17 working days, while there will be 14 days off and holidays this month.

Rescheduling holidays in January

For a more rational use of time, the supreme authorities made the following decision: due to the fact that January 6 falls on Saturday (and according to the law this day belongs to the New Year holidays and is considered non-working), it is postponed to March 9. The postponement of weekends and holidays described above will not be the only one for January 2018. Due to the fact that January 7 - Christmas, is included in and falls on a calendar day off - Sunday, there will be another shift in the production calendar. In this case, the day off on January 7th is moved to May 2nd.

The question may arise: how are such movements of holiday dates legalized in the production calendar? The answer can be found by referring to the legislation of the Russian Federation, which says that in the case when a public holiday falls on a calendar day off (that is, Saturday or Sunday), it is automatically transferred to a nearby Monday or other convenient date. This date is negotiated at the highest level and finally established by adopting the relevant act and promulgating it.

New Year 2018: holidays and weekends

On January 7, 2018, Russia will celebrate the second most important holiday in Orthodoxy (after Easter) - Christmas, this day will also be non-working.

It may seem that our country is almost the only one in the world that has such a long rest for the New Year. In many states, non-working days are several times less. In Russia, this trend has developed historically. Thanks to the innovations of Peter the Great, the first celebration of the New Year took place, which was shifted in the future due to the adoption of a new calendar. This gave rise to the first ones, which are now so loved by both children and adults.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft transfer of days off in 2018. It differs from the schedule according to which the Russians lived in 2017. Details - in the material Federal News Agency.

How to relax on New Year's Eve in 2018

In 2017, December 30, which is considered a working day, successfully fell on Saturday, so we can consider it the beginning of a long New Year's vacation. Official holidays in late December - early January will be extended from December 30, 2017 to January 8, 2017, which is 10 days.

Postponement of holidays in January 2018

Next year, as well as this year, during the New Year holidays, two official holidays coincide with days off. That is why the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation proposes to postpone these days, adding a bonus to other holidays. And here's what happens:

  • day off 6th January(Saturday) may be rescheduled for 9th of March(Friday);
  • day off Jan. 7(Sunday) may be rescheduled for May 2(Wednesday).

As stated in the text of the document of the Ministry of Labor, these transfers will be made in accordance with the second part of Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.

Recall that on January 7, Russia celebrates the second most important (after Easter) Orthodox holiday - Nativity.

Weekend changes in 2018

The main change compared to 2017 is not only that officials are proposing to increase the number of days off in March and May due to two days that fall on the January holidays.

Officials also propose to organize the postponement of the weekend from April 28, the 9th of June and December 29th(these three days fall on Saturday) - on April 30, June 11 and Dec. 31(that's Mondays). The Ministry of Labor is confident that such changes will help organizations and companies plan their working hours in advance. So, it will be convenient for the inhabitants of the country.

How do we relax in the spring

Officials in 2018, following the calendar, are preparing us a long weekend. So, in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day, Russians will be able to rest for three days, and in honor of International Women's Day on March 8 - even four.

Before the Holiday of Spring and Labor, Russians will also be rewarded with a good mini-vacation - from April 29 to May 2. At the same time, Victory Day, although it is a day off, but the days standing next to it are not. And on May 8 and May 10, the inhabitants of our country will have to work hard.

How to relax in summer and autumn

In the summer, the time for vacations begins: if one of the Russians is deprived of such happiness, then it remains for him to console himself with the weekend. Both ordinary and unscheduled - in honor of the Day of Russia. In 2018, the Ministry of Labor proposes to make the weekend from June 10 to 12.

Also, three days will be allotted to the inhabitants of Russia and in November - on the occasion of the Day of National Unity. From November 3 to 5, people will have the opportunity to escape from the bustle of work and have a little rest.

Reaction to the new calendar

The reaction of social networks to the new schedule is still restrained. Users simply share information. Silent for now and Vladimir Zhirinovsky, which is known for its harsh statements regarding the schedule of rest of Russians.

So, a few years ago, he proposed canceling the New Year holidays, making January 2 a working day. According to him, the best gift for the Russians would be the complete abolition of the long-running New Year holidays. However, other deputies were able to defend the holiday calendar, adopted in the mid-2000s and giving the Russians long winter holidays.

A little later, Zhirinovsky softened his position: all holidays should be removed, leaving only three days off (January 1, May 9 and June 12). Instead, he proposed to give the Russians 30 days of vacation annually, as well as 15 days when they can take a break in excess of this schedule. Individually, independently, without general festivities.

Official holidays in Russia in 2018

Let's summarize. If the proposal of the Ministry of Labor is approved, then the Russians will be able to rest on the following dates:

  • New Year holidays and Christmas (December 30, 2017 - January 8, 2018);
  • weekend in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day (February 23-25);
  • International Women's Day weekend (March 8-11);
  • weekend in honor of the Holiday of Spring and Labor (April 29 - May 2);
  • Day off in honor of Victory Day (May 9);
  • weekend in honor of the Day of Russia (June 10–12);
  • weekend in honor of National Unity Day (November 3–5).

A little more and the long-awaited and beloved winter holiday - the New Year - will come. On the eve of this celebration, I would like to know how we are resting for the New Year 2018 in Russia, because now you can make plans for the winter holidays: think over the scenario of the New Year's party, book a room in some wonderful town in Europe, buy a tour in the suburbs.

There are many interesting and memorable ways to celebrate this wonderful holiday, the main thing is that our government should not be stingy on the weekend and allow working people to walk up to their heart's content.

The Ministry of Labor has already determined the quantity. According to the regulation on the postponement of the weekend in 2018, the New Year holidays will be quite long - as much as 10 days.

Such an opportunity is rare and one must be grateful for the coincidence that the New Year's holiday comes on the night from Sunday to Monday. It turns out that even those who work on a "six-day" can easily prepare for the main feast of the year.

Starting from December 30, 2017, the New Year holidays will be considered officially open and they will last until January 8 inclusive. And already on January 9, everyone will be able to rush to their jobs and start performing their professional duties.

Note that in 2018 the weekend will be 1 day longer than in 2017, which means that the Russians had a chance to celebrate the New Year, Christmas and, of course, spend the Old New Year on a grand scale.

If you carefully study, it will become clear that the New Year holidays themselves will last until January 6, and Christmas will begin on the 6th. Given that January 6 and 7 are days off (Saturday and Sunday), March 9 (Friday) and May 2 (Wednesday) automatically become non-working days.

You may have a question: on what basis do all these transfers and shifts in the production calendar occur? The answer can easily be found in Russian legislation, where the rule is clearly stated - if a public holiday falls on a calendar day off (and therefore on Saturday or Sunday), then it must be moved to the next Monday or any convenient date.

It's hard to say right away what this date will be, because it is being discussed in the State Duma. Only after finally agreeing, the officials issue a legislative act on the transfer and make it public.

Surprisingly, Russia is considered almost the only country in the whole world that arranges such magnificent and long New Year holidays. Many states have long abandoned this tradition, considering it irrational.

As for Russia, the habit of celebrating the New Year and other January holidays for several days in a row has a historical background. She went from Peter the Great, who approved the celebration of the New Year, and then released a new calendar.

It was this innovation that gave a chance to all adults and children to enjoy the atmosphere of winter holidays and relax over the past year, remembering its brightest moments.

Other January celebrations in 2018

In addition to the familiar New Year holidays, there are a number of Russian celebrations that are also customary to celebrate in our society. Of course, these days are not so grandiose, but still, they can be celebrated with friends or relatives.

For example, if the day is dedicated to customs officers, and you are just working in this area, then it would be appropriate to order a magnificent banquet and celebrate this celebration with songs and dances along with colleagues.

Ideas for celebrating the New Year 2018

If you are wondering how to arrange a grand feast on the occasion of the New Year, we invite you to pay attention to a selection of original ideas that are sure to make this New Year's holiday unforgettable.

  • Unusual table for the New Year. Tired of standing at the stove every year and preparing “Olivier”, “Shuba” and other traditional dishes for the holiday? Then try to change this habit a little - order the cuisine of another country in a restaurant and thereby you will be able to diversify not only your palette of taste preferences, but also all the guests present.
  • New Year in nature. If you go to nature on New Year's Eve, set up tents, light a fire and sing songs with a guitar wrapped in warm blankets, then you will surely remember this unusual New Year for a long time. True, this venture will be carried out if the Hydrometeorological Center does not predict severe frosts. Otherwise, you run the risk of getting sick and then you won’t want any celebration.

  • New Year without alcohol. We are all used to celebrating the New Year with a glass of champagne in our hands. But what if we change this tradition and try to enter the new year 2018 without alcoholic drinks on the table. Juices, tasty tea or sparkling water can replace them.
  • New Year in warm countries. There is nothing better than to go from a cold and gray city to a sunny far away country. Here you will surely be able to spend the New Year holidays at the highest level and get a lot of positive emotions.

Do you already know, dear readers, how we relax on the New Year 2019 and on weekends for the January holidays? Do you know what official days off will be for the New Year holidays, in each month? Not yet, then we'll "tell you".

On the agenda is the calendar of holidays and weekends in 2019 in Russia: New Year's January holidays, May holidays, on March 8, on February 23, on November and the transfer of days off.

Straight to the point. The Ministry of Labor of Russia, as always, worries in advance about the order of the New Year holidays. So they already sat in March of this year and decided (tentatively) that:

  1. The official holiday for the New Year will be 10 days - from December 30, 2018 to January 8, 2019 (inclusive);
  2. For the May holidays 2019, Russians will rest from May 1 to May 5 and from May 9 to 12;
  3. And also on February 23 from February 23 to 24;
  4. For March 8 - from March 8 to March 10 (inclusive);
  5. For November - from November 2 to 4.

Official holidays for the New Year 2019 and for the January holidays

This year there are two options for the New Year holidays (possible):

  1. On New Year's Eve we have a full rest - 12 days - from December 30 to January 10. The most desired option for all Russians.
  2. 10 days (from 12/30/18 to 01/08/19) - optimistic, more accurate and most likely approved, which means official (the Ministry of Labor just proposed this option for consideration).

How do we relax on the New Year 2019? Transfer of days off that fell on New Year's holidays

Saturday, December 29, 2018 will be a working day for Russians. But it is transferred as a day off to Monday, December 31.

January 5 and 6, 2019 fall on Saturday and Sunday (and these days are always included in the annual New Year holidays), which means it is postponed. And the transfer "flies away" on the May holidays - on May 2 and 3, respectively.

January 7 - Christmas is a big holiday, which means we officially have a rest, even if it's Monday.

  • We celebrate New Year and Christmas from December 30 to January 8 inclusive!
  • The working Monday, December 31 is transferred to Saturday, December 29 (this is a calendar holiday, but it will be a working day - most likely a short one).

Since January 1st falls on Wednesday. But maybe there, at the top, they will decide that December 31 is Monday, not exactly a shortened working day, it is not even productive. And perhaps somehow increase the January holidays.

December 31 - On this day, people are already set for gifts and festivities, and they are preparing with might and main. All of them are not up to work, and even if they find themselves in the workplace, they do everything, if only not to work.

Well, it's time to decide on the meeting place and New Year's gifts. Do you know what symbol, what kind of beast according to the horoscope comes into its possession?

2019 is the year of which animal according to the eastern horoscope

Briefly: 2019 is the year of the Pig or the Yellow Earth Pig according to the eastern Chinese horoscope. And in our understanding, a pig is a kind animal, but loves expensive gifts. The boar is also a spender, loves freedom and beauty. They cannot be alone and do not tolerate betrayal.

And the Pig believes in fairy tales and magical miracles. This is a humorous sign of the zodiac and likes to often play a joke and laugh.

To choose a New Year's gift for the Yellow Pig, you must remember that she loves everything beautiful, practical and expensive, bringing joy.

How to celebrate the New 2019 Year of the Pig

So the New Year of the Yellow Pig should be celebrated like this (?):

  1. In the circle of friends and relatives, with family and relatives. Pig loves noisy companies.
  2. There are no restrictions on the New Year's table of dishes. But Boar loves mushrooms most of all, and this product is “hard” to digest. And no matter how such an animal does not accept meat, especially pork. But what about without meat? Solution: serve meat salads and snacks from chicken meat (easier, cheaper and easy to get). All fruits and citrus fruits are just the way. Check out new and interesting ideas: What to cook for the New Year 2019 recipes with photos.
  3. Clothing for the holiday is selected in yellow shades (brown and green), it is possible with the addition of red and golden. Spicy mustard is the chic of 2019. The pig is not a very modest animal - on the contrary, so anything - maxi and mini skirts, shorts and bodycon dresses, jumpsuits and super-shiny dresses.
  4. Decorations for the New Year. Rumor has it that the Boar "does not miss", and it will be very useful to have a "gold" in your New Year's wardrobe. Just don't overdo it!
  5. Home comfort. If there is an opportunity, decorate an apartment or house in yellow, gold, and red: tinsel, snowflakes, ribbons. The Christmas tree is a beauty, we see it in gold and red balls mixed, plus not a lot of tinsel and “rain”.
